In recent years, Courtney Stodden has called out a lot of really effed up stuff that society put them through.
One of them was a mockery over their 2011 interview.
Somehow, viewers came away making fun of the child bride and not the grown adult 51-year-old man.
Now, Courtney is coming forward with a diagnosis. Their “odd” faces at 16 were from Tourette syndrome.
Courtney hasn’t been a child bride in years
In 2011, Courtney sat down for an interview with ABC News’ Lara Spencer.
They had just become famous after their marriage to 51-year-old Doug Hutchinson.
Courtney was only 16 at the time. And Doug sat right by their side for the interview.
Most interviews with child brides take place under a veil of anonymity or after an escape, not with the teenager and the man three times their age seated side-by-side on a sofa.
Somehow, unfortunately, the public’s takeaway from the interview was not to fix laws so that parents can no longer off their children up to predators — but that “gee, this girl” — Courtney would not come out as nonbinary for many years — “is so weird.”
A particular point of focus was Courtney’s facial expressions during the interview.
Make no mistake — they’d be the first to agree that they were making unusual facial motions during the video.
At the time, some speculated that Courtney was on drugs. We have since learned that Doug allegedly taught his child bride to drink at 16.
(They speculated this to shame Courtney, not to ask why the child bride was allegedly high during an interview.)
The truth, we’re only now learning, is that they have Tourette syndrome.
A diagnosis reveal
On Sunday, March 29, Courtney took to their Instagram page to re-share the clip with new context, 15 years later.
“They made a moment into a joke,” they lamented. “But there was a reason.”
Courtney shared: “There’s a part of my story no one ever understood.” And it has to do with this diagnosis.
“As an adult,” they revealed, “I was diagnosed with having suffered from Tourette syndrome.”
Courtney recalled: “And for most of my childhood i lived with tics i couldn’t control stuttering… eye squinting… mouth movements… muscle tension….”
“Things my body needed to release whether i wanted to or not when i was very young,” Courtney described.
“I also experienced seizures,” they shared, “something my body eventually outgrew.”
And there is a reason that we haven’t heard about this before now.
“But the tics stayed.,” Courtney shared. “I never talked about it before… because I was ashamed.”
They confessed: “I didn’t want to out myself i thought it would make me look weird like something was ‘wrong’ with me.”
‘Nothing in my system’
Courtney went on to elaborate further, explaining that they tried to make their tics and muscle spasms look “intentional” and “sexy” to hide what was happening.
Many people can relate — having put on a brave face and walked normally after an injury despite discomfort, for example.
And, for the record, Courtney clarified: “There was no alcohol. No pills. Nothing in my system.”
They affirmed: “There is nothing shameful about something you never had control over. And if you’ve ever been misunderstood for something your body did… you’re not alone.”
It’s a shame that Courtney is still best known as a former child bride and not for their absolute bops. Yes, I love their music. But it’s wonderful that they use their platform to advocate for children who risk being married off to predators.

This flirty exchange is turning heads and seemingly confirming rumors.
There is also a duck there.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star and would-be The Bachelorette leading lady Taylor Frankie Paul is getting flirty with rumored winner Doug Mason.
Did he write a song about her? Despite everything, are these two going to work out?

On Saturday, March 28, Doug Mason — the rumored winner of TFP’s season of The Bachelorette — shared a video to Instagram.
The video is a teaser as he sings along to his new song.
(Most of the men from Taylor’s season missed weeks of work only to end up with no opportunity to promote themselves or build a social media following. Doug, at least, has some name recognition at the moment.)
In the video, we see a duck walking on the asphalt of a parking lot.
This clearly held some special significance to Taylor.
As you can see in the screenshot below, Taylor showed up in Doug’s comments.
“[Aww] I see what you did here,” she wrote.
Taylor also included a duck emoji.
Doug replied with a simple pair of emojis that are open to interpretation.
We’ve shared them in this screenshot. It seems that he’s playing innocent, pretending that he doesn’t know what Taylor is talking about.
Is this song about her?
We’ll admit that we’re not sure exactly what the “duck” signifies.
(There is some speculation that it could be a nickname for Doug — given the similarities in the sound of his name and the name of the waterfowl — but that is unconfirmed.)
It is entirely possible that the song was in the works before ABC canceled Taylor’s The Bachelorette season.
As such, it may contain references to the season — things that the public might have understood, but now does not.
Alternatively, the duck might make perfect sense if one were to listen to the entire song.
Technically, we don’t know that Doug won Taylor’s season.
But many fans suspect that this is what happened. That’s the rumor.
This Instagram exchange only serves to reinforce that belief.
Additionally, that may mean that Taylor and Doug’s relationship is what allegedly drove Dakota Mortensen to sabotage her season by releasing the 2023 video.
Reportedly, TMZ is working on something about Taylor and Dakota’s history. Ultimately, Dakota may regret putting himself in the spotlight.
Maybe these two will work out after all?
Many commenters are openly lamenting that they did not — and will likely never — get to see Taylor and Doug’s love story play out.
At least, not their first meeting.
The Bachelorette‘s audience is invested in a very specific format. Social media flirty emojis just won’t substitute.
But some suggest that it might be way healthier for them, if they are an item, if they continue without as much of a spotlight.
Certainly, Taylor’s had enough toxic relationships. Those rooting for her despite everything would like to see her get a happily ever after.

On the golf course, Tiger Woods has no problem making use of a driver.
But for some reason, despite a reported net worth of $1.3 billion, the man simply refuses to hire a chauffeur, or even order a freakin’ Lyft.
As you’ve likely heard by now, Woods was arrested on DUI charges last week, and this is not the first time that he’s gotten himself into trouble behind the wheel.
Obviously, with Tiger’s money, he could hire a pair of drivers to work in shifts.
The very least he could do is use a chauffeur or ride share service when he’s been drinking or taking meds that might slow his reaction time.
But despite years of DUIs and accidents, the golf legend simply refuses to go that route. And now we might know why.
According to a new report from People magazine, Tiger “doesn’t want anyone to watch over him or know what he is doing.”
And he thinks he is fine to drive,” a source tells the outlet, adding:
“He is not a social butterfly and prefers to hang around his home with his kids, or hitting balls, or playing video games.
“He despises public scrutiny.”
Yes, evidently, Tiger has to drive while impaired because he’s shy.
The “public scrutiny” he would get from hiring a driver is apparently worse than the scrutiny he receives from flipping his SUV while driving erratically on a weekday afternoon.
It’s worth mentioning that his latest crash happened at 2 pm, around the time that kids get out of school.
Tiger should probably contemplate the sort of scrutiny he would endure if this recent humiliation had reached the level of full-blown tragedy, as it very well could have.
In case you can’t tell, we’re a little annoyed by Tiger’s continued insistence on (allegedly) driving under the influence, despite multiple previous crashes and brushes with the law.
And it seems we’re not the only ones.
Insiders say Tiger’s girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, is furious over his latest scandal.
“She’s not happy at all. She’s both disappointed and a little bit pissed, if I’m being honest,” one insider tells the Daily Mail.
“It’s a definite red flag, and she told him that he’s going to get this sorted out and that she’s going to require that.”
The source went on to state that if Woods doesn’t get his act together, Vanessa will kick him to the curb:
“He has to get things under control, or she’s not going to stick around,” they said.
Sounds like Tiger has a lot to lose if he doesn’t get his act together. Of course, that also was the case with his last three traffic mishaps, and here we are.

Between Donald Trump’s sabotage of the economy, his war in Iran, and the chilling revelations from the Epstein Files, a number of Trump-supporters are having buyer’s remorse.
But TLC singer Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas is telling a different story.
After her donations to Trump were exposed, she’s quickly insisting to the world that she’s “not MAGA.”
She’s not saying that she once supported him and stopped. Instead, she claims that it was all a mistake.
Her donating about $1,000 is a matter of record
On Saturday, March 28, The Independent reported that FEC records indicated that one Trump donor was named Rozonda Thomas of Stone Mountain, Georgia.
That is a distinctive name. It happens to belong to Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas.
Yes, that one. Of the Atlanta girl group, TLC.
The donations were to the Trump National Committee JFC — that is, joint fundraising committee — and Never Surrender Inc., which is a Trump fundraising group.
In total, her donations amounted to about $1,000.
These donations to America’s mad king came in 2024, by the way.
This means that she financially contributed to the ongoing destruction of America that we’re witnessing every day.
Obviously, people are expressing their horror and their disgust — and many more are simply shocked.
Chilli is not the first star from the ’90s to drive away former fans with abhorrent political takes.
What does she have to say for herself?
Was this somehow just a mistake?
Over the weekend, the TLC singer took to her Instagram page to offer an explanation.
“I WANT TO BE CLEAR: I am not MAGA,” she began her post.
“And,” Chilli continued, “do not support any of the many policies that are causing great harm to the American people.”
She claimed: “I made a mistake too many make: I did not read the fine print.”
According to Chilli: “I thought I was supporting causes against human trafficking and for veterans.” Those are admittedly odd causes to champion if one is going to support Donald Trump.
“Two things I care deeply about,” Chilli emphasized, “as my dad is a veteran and everyone knows I love children.”
She promised: “I have learned a valuable lesson.”
Chilli concluded by making a request: “And ask for grace as I navigate this.”
In a video, she also claimed that an entirely separate scandal — a post spreading a weird transvestigation conspiracy theory about former First Lady Michelle Obama — was simply an accident.
The TLC singer said that she is “not computer savvy” and did not even realize that the post, which most normal people would not even have seen, had been shared.
This is a troubling pattern
“I have the utmost respect and admiration for Michelle Obama, and I would never say or do anything that is disrespectful to her or to any woman,” Chilli claimed.
Memorably, she also said “all lives matter,” an infamous racist slogan, back in 2017. The phrase exists solely to counter the Black Lives Matter movement, which calls attention to the murders of Black Americans, particularly by law enforcement.
That, too, was something that she walked back. But there is an unfortunate pattern.
Chilli and TLC are supposed to join Salt-N-Pepa (which we always say with the Sir Patrick Stewart intonation) and En Vogue this super for the It’s Iconic Tour.
Is she doing damage-control to avoid a drop in ticket sales? Because, judging by the replies to her posts, she’s not doing enough.

Olivia Munn revealed her diagnosis to the world.
Years before she shared this — before she and John Mulaney were an item, let alone parents — she learned that she has fibromyalgia.
The actress, comedian, and occasional guest co-host on The Today Show had to adjust to a new reality.
In fact, she relearned how to live much of her life. Perhaps that helped to prepare her to fight for her life against cancer.
She has received her fibromyalgia diagnosis over 6 years ago
44-year-old actress Olivia Munn opened up to People a while back about how she had felt off for years before her early 2019 fibromyalgia diagnosis.
“I wasn’t really sure what was going on with me,” she admitted.
Munn added: “I was going through a lot of different ailments for years and not knowing what was happening.”
As it turned out, “what was happening” was fibromyalgia. This incurable disorder involves muscle pain, fatigue, and issues with sleep and memory.
‘Gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free’
“I had to change my wellness routine pretty significantly,” Munn admitted.
“I had to be super thoughtful about what I put into my body,” she explained.
Munn spelled out: I had to start eating gluten-free, dairy-free, and sugar-free.”
She added: “I had to cut out a lot of things that I was used to having every day and things that I really loved.”
She had no choice but to change everything
“My situation was at a place where it was like, ‘You’re either going to go down a path where you’re going to get multiple autoimmune diseases, or you have to stop now and we can try to get you better,’” Munn said of her lifestyle changes.
“It was like, ‘These are your choices.’ And so I had no choice, I was feeling so bad.”
She acknowledged: “I had to really listen to the doctor’s orders and cut all these things out.”
On the plus side, Munn said that her doctor advised her to enjoy the food that she eats.
Stress can exacerbate fibromyalgia, while happiness can reduce it.
She has also battled with cancer
In March of 2024, Munn revealed her breast cancer diagnosis. In order to combat the extremely aggressive disease, she underwent a double-mastectomy.
She went on to undergo a full hysterectomy.
The actress and comedian has undergone more than her fair share of life-altering illnesses.
But, thankfully, they did not prove to be life-ending.

We have tragic news to report from the world of television today.
Multiple outlets have now confirmed that beloved actor and comedian Alex Duong has passed away.
He was just 42 years old.
News of Duong’s passing comes courtesy of a statement from his longtime friend Hilarie Steele
“He was comfortable and thankfully out of pain,” Steele wrote on a GoFundMe page for Duong’s family.
“He was alert enough to say goodbye to his little girl, whom he has treasured every moment since the day she was born,” she continued, adding:
“We are devastated, but so grateful for the support, prayers and generosity you have all shown during this unimaginable time.”
Duong was diagnosed with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare cancer affecting soft tissue, last year.
Steele provided updates about his condition as Duong’s condition deteriorated rapidly in recent days:
“He has gone into septic shock, a severe and life-threatening infection that has overwhelmed his body,” she wrote.
“He is in the hospital, and the situation is critical. Everything has changed so quickly.”
A popular standup comic in Los Angeles, Duong racked up numerous TV credits over the years, including roles on Blue Bloods, Dexter, Everybody Hates Chris, 90210, The Young and the Restless, and Pretty Little Liars.
Last summer, comics Ronny Chieng and Atusko Okatsuka hosted the “The Alex Duong Has Cancer In His Eye Comedy Benefit Show” at the Largo in Los Angeles.
Steele says Alex’s family has been “overwhelmed with gratitude” over the outpouring of support from fans.
“Please keep Alex and his family in your prayers,” she wrote.
“Your support is carrying them through the hardest time of their lives.”
The GoFundMe page has already raised more than $120,000 toward its original goal of $95,000.
Duong is survived by his wife, Cristina, and their 5-year-old daughter, Everest.
