In the weeks since video of Taylor Frankie Paul assaulting Dakota Mortensen was made public, Paul has maintained that footage of the altercation did not tell the whole story.

Now, it appears she’s been somewhat vindicated.

In photos obtained by TMZ, Taylor and Dakota are both sporting facial injuries that were allegedly caused by one another.

That doesn’t change the fact that Taylor is on camera hurling metal barstools at Dakota. But she may have been telling the truth when she claimed she was a victim as well as an aggressor.

Whatever the case, there’s more good news for Paul, as we now know that she will not face any new criminal charges in connection with further claims made by Mortensen.

According to People, the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office announced on April 14 that it will not pursue charges stemming from additional alleged incidents involving Paul and Mortensen.

The office said some of the allegations fell outside the statute of limitations, while others either did not rise to the level of criminal offenses or lacked sufficient evidence and specificity to move forward.

As the DA’s office explained in letters obtained by People, some incidents lacked ‘specificity as to when and what actually occurred or corroboration.”

The office also noted that the case was reviewed by “multiple attorneys” due to Paul’s public profile.

Following the news, Paul took to social media with an emotional statement.

“Cried when I got the call. THANK YOU to those that have stood with me,” she wrote (per People).

Clearly, Taylor is grateful to those who supported her through the legal and personal turmoil of the past several weeks.

The reality star’s response reflected a sense of relief after weeks of uncertainty surrounding the investigation.

This latest decision applies only to the new allegations investigated in 2026.

As People notes, this does not change the 2023 case, in which Paul previously pleaded guilty in abeyance to aggravated assault after a separate incident involving Mortensen.

That earlier case remains a significant part of the public conversation surrounding Paul, particularly after leaked footage of the incident led ABC to cancel Taylor’s season of The Bachelorette.

For now, however, prosecutors have made clear that no new charges will be filed in connection with the most recent allegations.

And for Paul, that development appears to have brought at least some measure of relief amid what has been a deeply public and painful chapter.

“It’s sad to see the latest installment of his never-ending, desperate, attention-seeking, destructive campaign to harm Taylor without any regard for the consequences for their child,” a rep for the reality star said in a statement last month.

“Releasing an old and selectively edited video on their son’s birthday is a reprehensible attempt to distract from his own behavior.”

Hopefully, now Taylor and Dakota can both move on from this messy incident.

Earlier this month, we reported on the news that New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel had been accused of having an affair with Dianna Russini, an NFL reporter who was working for The Athletic at the time.

On Wednesday, Russini resigned from the outlet amid ongoing scrutiny of her relationship with Vrabel.

In her resignation letter, Russini maintained her innocence and insisted that she had not crossed the line with Vrabel — but some folks aren’t buying her version of events.

One of those people is sports journalist Crissy Froyd, who blasted Russini in a series of tweets:

“I’m sure you were told to submit this or that you’d get fired instead. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out,” Froyd tweeted this week following news of Russini’s resignation letter.

“We know who you really are and what you’ve been up to for years,” she continued, adding:

“It does so much detriment to women in sports who have done things the right way

Froyd doubled down in remarks to the Daily Caller, telling the outlet that Russini “deserves” to be called out for her actions.

“All of us do know what she’s been up to,” she alleged.

“I can honestly say I have never slept with a player or coach for professional gain. Dianna cannot say the same. That’s where the difference is,”

In a separate tweet, Froyd also blasted Vrabel:

“Since it seems to have not been taken correctly — I equally despise Mike Vrabel for his behavior,” she wrote, adding:

“As someone who covered the Titans for years, even on the ground as a hopeful teenager in Nissan Stadium, I am absolutely distraught at his actions after I used to look up to him.”

She also accused of Russini of getting into a fight with another reporter after they learned that they were both romantically involved with Sean McVay, who was the offensive coordinator in Washington at the time.

“From fights with other reporters in Chili’s parking lots about hooking up with married NFL coaches to everything else, it is almost certainly all true. It was the worst kept secret in the NFL reporting world for a while,” she wrote.

Froyd soon found herself on the receiving end of some very harsh criticism, with some going so far as to accuse her of hypocrisy.

She went so far as to invite critics to offer details of her own alleged affairs with NFL insiders.

“Hi! Opening up a thread here for anyone in my comments also accusing me of sleeping with players/coaches for info,” Froyd tweeted, adding:

“Please hit me with your best shot. Once again, I have nothing to hide and am damn sure you can’t provide any legitimate evidence if you have a ‘claim.’”

For her part, Russini continues to deny that she carried on an inappropriate relationship with Vrabel:

“The photos don’t represent the group of six people who were hanging out during the day. Like most journalists in the NFL, reporters interact with sources away from stadiums and other venues,” she said in her resignation letter.

“These photos show a completely innocent interaction and any suggestion otherwise is laughable. This doesn’t deserve any further response,” Vrabel echoed in his own statement.

If you’re a fan of the 1994 film classic Pulp Fiction, then you’ll likely remember the scene in which Samuel L. Jackson recites Ezekiel 25:17 before emptying his clip into the dudes who wound up with his boss’ briefcase.

And apparently, the ultimate high-powered hitman Pete Hegseth found the chapter and verse so inspirational that he recited them at a recent Pentagon prayer event.

The only problem is, the words from Quentin Tarantino’s beloved film don’t appear anywhere in the Bible.

“This prayer was recited by Sandy 1, which is one of the Sandies, to all Sandies, all those A-10 crews, prior to all CSAR missions, but especially this CSAR mission, which happened in real time,” Hegseth said.

“They call it CSAR 25:17, which I think is meant to reflect Ezekiel 25:17.

“So the prayer is CSAR 25:17 and it reads, and pray with me please, ‘The path of the downed aviator is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men,” the defense secretary continued (as seen in the video below).

“Blessed is he who in the name of camaraderie and duty shepherds the lost through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children.

“And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to capture and destroy my brother, and you will know my call sign is Sandy 1 when I lay my vengeance upon thee. Amen.”

It might not be as unexpected as Donald Trump’s numerous AI Jesus posts, but the situation has a lot of peopple scratching their heads.

In the King James translation of the Bible, Ezekiel 25:17 reads simply:

“And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.”

However, the version that Jules Winfield hisses before he unloads on Big Brain Brad goes like this:

“The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.

“Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and goodwill, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children.

“And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord, when I lay my vengeance upon thee.”

In typical Tarantino fashion, the quote is cribbed from a 1970s Japanese martial arts movie titled Bodyguard Kiba.

So Hegseth was working with a copy of a copy that had apparently been repurposed by members of the Air Force.

They might not believe in climate change, but this administration sure likes recycling.

Over the weekend, Donald Trump’s portrayal of himself as Jesus earned a lot of reprisal from his own fans.

Trump officials offered various explanations and excuses. The man himself called it a mistake, claiming that he’d believed that the AI slop was depicting him as a “doctor” of the “Red Cross.”

But he has now posted a second image of a very similar nature.

Will this deepen the divide? Or will he keep slopping until his remaining supporters stop complaining?

He’s at it again

On Wednesday, April 15, Donald Trump shared another image — this time a screenshot of a tweet — to his Orwellian “Truth Social” social media page.

“The Radical Left Lunatics might not like this, but I think it is quite nice!!!” he captioned the screenshot.

(One has to wonder if this means that he has decided to brand conservative evangelicals who condemned the previous image as “radical left lunatics,” as well.)

The AI generated slop depicts the man himself in front of a microphone, with Jesus draping over him.

Some have suggested that this image is even worse, as the pose seems very … intimate.

Though the genAI slop is the focus of the post, we cannot discount the deeply unwell text of the original tweet.

“I was never a very religious man,” the unidentified original poster wrote.

The poster continued: “But doesn’t it seem with all these satanic, demonic, child sacrificing monster being exposed … that God might be playing his Trump card!”

This message appears to be leaning into QAnon conspiracy theories, which pretend that famous actors and TV news anchors and musicians are part of a demonic cult that sacrifices children.

Reality is full of twisted, evil individuals — but it is also banal. When the wealthy and powerful prey upon children, it doesn’t involve demons — just power, money, and the evil in the hearts of men like Jeffrey Epstein and his buddies.

Didn’t he just get massive blowback for a similar image?

Trump’s post comes just days after his last one, a similarly brazen piece of genAI slop.

That image depicted the man as Jesus, performing a miraculous act of healing upon a sick man.

(Some suggested that the sick man resembled Trump’s longtime friend, Epstein. Others compared the man’s looks to comedian Jon Stewart.)

Likening oneself to one’s own religion’s holiest figure is considered blasphemous in many faiths — including Christianity.

Trump’s core supporters include many who dislike his behavior and policies, but who support him in the name of things like white nationalism and Christian nationalism. Folks believing that the rest is somehow worth it if their beliefs become law were really struggling with such a sacrilegious display.

As you can see, Trump — as always — cannot abide any criticism, even from fellow conservatives, even from his most ardent supporters.

He lashed out at transphobic grifter Riley Gaines, at former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, and at disgraced conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.

Speaking with CBS News on Monday, April 13, Trump claimed that he’d believed that the slop image depicted him, not as Christianity’s messiah figure, but as “a doctor.”

Absurdly, he insisted: “I viewed that as a picture of me being a doctor in fixing — you had the Red Cross right there, you had, you know, medical people surrounding me.”

There is speculation that Trump, given his obvious cognitive decline, misunderstood a plan to claim that the image had been “doctored,” after his press secretary used that word.

Why is he doubling down?

Trump seemed shocked by the outcry that his initial post elicited from conservative Christians who previously supported him.

Meanwhile, other members of his regime have conjured up various excuses — such as Vance claiming that it was a “joke” that people misinterpreted.

Meanwhile, Speaker Mike Johnson admitted that he did ask Trump to delete the post.

Even conservative commentators have marveled at how Trump deleted that image, but left the racist depiction of the Obamas up. We probably all understand why Trump cares more about white evangelicals than he does about Black constituents, right?

Only, he’s doubling down on the AI Jesus stuff. Is he testing the waters? Or is this kneejerk defiance against any request for decency, which is the same attitude that defines his political movement?

It’s been nearly six years since Prince Harry stepped down as a working royal.

And based on his latest comments about that decision, he still has no regrets.

Harry and wife Meghan Markle are currently touring Australia, and the Duke made some surprisingly candid remarks about family, grief, and duty at one recent stop.

“I was like, ‘I don’t want this job. I don’t want this role — wherever this is headed, I don’t like it,’” Harry told a crowd at the InterEdge Summit during the third day of his tour.

“I was very much against it, and I stuck my head in the sand for years and years,” he continued (via Page Six), adding:

“And also, what would my mum want me to do? And that really changed my own perspective.”

“In my experience, loss is disorienting at any age. Grief does not disappear because we ignore it.”

Harry went on to explain that he was forever changed by the experience of mourning his mother with the eyes of the world watching his every move.

“Experiencing that as a kid while in a goldfish bowl under constant surveillance, yes, that will have its challenges. And without purpose, it can break you,” he said.

The Duke of Sussex added that he’s felt “lost, betrayed or completely powerless” many times since, but his sense of purpose has remained with him.

This, of course, is not the first time that Harry has spoken publicly about the grief he endured in the wake of his mother’s passing.

In 2017, Harry gave an interview to The Telegraph that he nearly had a “complete breakdown” years after Diana’s death.

“I can safely say that losing my mom at the age of 12, and therefore shutting down all of my emotions for the last 20 years, has had a quite serious effect on not only my personal life but my work as well,” he said at the time.

As for stepping away from royal work, Harry has suggested in the past that the decision was made somewhat easier by the fact that as younger brother to the heir, he had no expectation of ever ascending to the throne.

“I took no offense, I felt nothing about it, any of it,” he wrote in his 2023 memoir.

“Every boy and girl, at least once, imagines themselves as a prince or a princess. Therefore, Spare or no Spare, it wasn’t half bad to actually be one.”

Clearly, Harry has come along way in the years since he left the UK. And to the chagrin of many of his harshest critics, it appears that he’s still confident that he made the right choice.

After ages of clear signs of a Beckham family feud, we finally know what tore apart the UK’s (other) royal family.

Brooklyn spoke out earlier this year, accusing mom Victoria of hijacking his wedding and humiliating him. This mirrored other accounts of the wedding, which many had dismissed as too awful to be true.

Now, for the first time, Victoria is breaking her silence on the family rift.

But she’s not exactly leaping to take accountability for her actions.

In a new interview with The Wall Street Journal, Victoria spoke about the rift in her family — particularly between her and her eldest son, Brooklyn.

Though the question asked about Brooklyn Peltz Beckham specifically, she avoided using his name.

“I think that we’ve always — we love our children so much,” Victoria began.

“We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be,” she added.

Many parents say that. Sometimes, it is even true.

“And you know, we’ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now,” Victoria noted.

She became a public figure in the ’90s with the debut of the Spice Girls.

Her husband, David Beckham, was apparently famous within the sports fandom — specifically for soccer — prior to his marriage, which is arguably the larger claim to fame.

“And all we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children,” Victoria emphasized.

“And you know,” she concluded, “that’s all I really want to say about it.”

In case you need a refresher on what Brooklyn said

In January 2026, Brooklyn spoke out, ending the speculation about why he was beefing with some of his family.

First and foremost, he accused both of his parents of trying to strongarm him over his relationship with his wife, Nicola. He also accused them of trying to “ruin” the romance.

Some parents meddle due to personal wishes. In his mind, it seemed to be about the family branding — about “public promotion and endorsements above all else.”

Brooklyn said that Victoria and David ambushed him before his wedding, trying to get him to sign away his own rights to his own name.

And then came the accusations about Victoria’s outrageous behavior at the wedding itself.

Brooklyn wrote that his mother had “hijacked” his wedding dance — his first dance with Nicola Peltz Beckham as spouses.

This was apparently a prank — and only grew more disgusting as it progressed.

According to Brooklyn, Victoria “danced inappropriately on me.”

Accounts of the dance describe Victoria allegedly “nuzzling” her eldest son’s neck.

Understandably, he wrote that he has no “wish tor reconcile” right now. That is pretty understandable.

Why did she bother saying anything if it doesn’t really mean anything?

Brooklyn continued to speak to his mother after that, even as he and Nicola planned a small and private ceremony that his mother could not ruin.

Truth be told, remaining on speaking terms for any time after that sounds overly generous. Brooklyn said that it was only his family’s meddling in the media that prompted him to speak out.

It doesn’t sound like Victoria is ready to deny literally any of that. Or to confirm it. Or even to apologize.

One has to wonder why she chose to speak at all instead of passing on the question.

Her protestations that she’s always tried to be a good parent don’t really mean much in the face of the reality that Brooklyn has described.
