There’s more going on with Taylor Frankie Paul than the personal, professional, and legal upheaval.
The controversial The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star has recently opened up about her mental health.
In the past, she has described symptoms — like panic attacks and dissociation.
Now, she’s sharing her diagnosis. Under the circumstances, it makes a lot of sense.
She’s had at least part of her diagnosis for about two years
On Sunday, April 19, Taylor took to her Instagram Story to divulge her diagnosis.
“I was diagnosed with PTSD about two years ago,” the The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star revealed.
“Which,” she continued, “I assume is now C-PTSD.”
Taylor added: “By more than one therapist,” she clarified, “for all those that assumed diagnoses.”
(It’s possible that she’s specifically trying to head off people who might accuse her of self-diagnosis, or those who might simply dispute the diagnosis offered from one therapist.)
PTSD is Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. This anxiety disorder can impact anyone from rescue workers to soldiers, but is perhaps more common to people who experience violence and other trauma in a civilian capacity.
The “C” in C-PTSD stands for “complex.” However, some remember the diagnosis’ meaning by thinking of it as “chronic.”
C-PTSD stems from repeated exposure to the same or similar trauma — particularly when it seems inescapable.
Someone who survives a mass shooting might develop PTSD. Someone who endures years of abuse from a parent or a partner might develop C-PTSD.
Both are the result of coping mechanisms that have evolved to help people survive. But C-PTSD means that trauma has had so much time to rewire how you think and what you expect from the world that it’s, well, pretty complex to treat when you’re no longer in danger.
A major sign has been dissociation
Taylor also shared a clip of clinical psychologist Dr. Vincent Barbieri discussing a tell-tale symptom of C-PTSD: dissociation.
Sometimes misused, dissociation refers to a mental and emotional disconnection from one’s physical surroundings.
This isn’t daydreaming, even if descriptions can be similar. It’s a detachment that people learn, usually subconsciously, in order to cope with trauma.
Barbieri refers to how dissociation is “one of the most characteristic” signs of C-PTSD, even if it is also a symptom of other conditions.
“For anyone that’s dissociated before,” he explains, “it’s this very real experience of, you could be staring at someone and be completely vacant in your eyes because you are not there at all.”

Taylor also shared throwback clips of her own social media posts.
These were TikTok videos and more in which she had displayed what she now recognizes as clear symptoms of C-PTSD.
Dissociation is not always observable externally. Sometimes, even the individual doing it doesn’t notice, or isn’t aware that there’s a term for this.
In a 2025 video, Taylor admitted that she’d spent “a couple minutes” absentmindedly trying to enter her hotel room using her car keys.
Trying it once is an absentminded goof-up. Trying for a prolonged period means that her thoughts had retreated, detached from her activities and surroundings.
Notably, she didn’t point the finger (but perhaps she didn’t feel that she had to)
Despite recent photos of Taylor’s injuries — bruising on her forehead, neck, and arms — which allegedly came from ex Dakota Mortensen, she does not specify the cause of her C-PTSD.
And, truth be told, this diagnosis does not always have one singular cause.
Trauma sometimes leads people into dangerous cycles. Certain types of traumatic experiences can steer people’s lives into, unfortunately, even more danger. Cult survivors might escape only to end up in a toxic marriage, someone abused by a parent could end up with an abusive partner.
We hope that Taylor is getting treatment. Because some of her behavior has not been acceptable, no matter her diagnosis.
Sometimes, the key to correcting your own actions is to understand what has caused them. You can’t really fix certain things without understanding what’s going on.

Last week, we reported on the upsetting news that actress Christina Applegate had been hospitalized.
Christina has been battling MS for several years now.
And while she’s shown tremendous courage throughout the process, the disease is a progressive one that usually gets worse with time.

And with recent news that her condition appears to be deteriorating rapidly, those closest to Applegate are fearing the worst.
“With every setback, if we are being realistic, everyone has it in the back of their minds that they might not have a tomorrow with her,” a source close to the situation tells Radar Online.
“Christina is a fighter, but her battle with MS has been treacherous. She has better days and really bad days; she doesn’t have great days. She’s always dealing with something. It sucks,” the insider continues, adding:
“But when she does look at things positively it makes her feel better in the moment because she has so many friends that are there for her, even to listen to her, cry with her and anything in between.”
Despite all of the concerns about Christina’s recent downturn, however, her friends say they remain optimistic.
“Nobody is planning to be at a funeral. Granted, her disease will take her sooner than anyone would like it to be, but everyone has trust in her medical team and her will to live,” says the source.
In a recent podcast interview, Christina revealed that she’s mostly confined to bed and that her life is “a living hell.”
“I don’t enjoy living. I don’t enjoy things anymore,” she said. “She’s in rough shape. But people aren’t thinking that this is the end.
Applegate also opened up about the extreme weight loss she’s endured as a result of her illness, noting that she recently lost 50 pounds in a span of just months.
“Sometimes the weight loss bothered me more than the disease,” she said, adding that “everything just dropped off of me” as a result of her treatments.
“Within seven months, all of it was gone, and I was down by 50 pounds or more. These days, my legs are tinier than they’ve ever been,” Christina wrote in her memoir, You With the Sad Eyes.
“The illness has given me serious stomach issues,” she continued, adding:
“As I write this, there are tamales downstairs that are the best tamales you could ever have – I want to eat five of them right now, I’m so hungry – but I know if I do, I’ll probably end up in the ER again, as I have so many times recently.”

In the weeks that followed that first piece of dramatic Taylor Frankie Paul footage, the world has learned a lot about a deeply complex and upsetting situation.
She temporarily lost custody of her child. Less importantly, ABC shelved a full episode of The Bachelorette, Meghan Wants a Millionaire style.
After so much light has been shed on the abuse claims, Taylor will not face prosecution for alleged incidents earlier this year.
Now, Dakota Mortensen is making a public statement. And it’s an apology — of sorts.
‘I’ve taken a step back’
So late on the night of Sunday, April 19 that it was already Monday morning in most of the world, Dakota shared a message on his Instagram page.
“Over the past several weeks,” he began, “I’ve taken a step back and had time away from the chaos.”
Dakota wrote: “That space has been a breath of fresh air and has given me clarity.”
He claimed: “My focus now is where it should have been all along — on my son.”
Dakota continued: “And creating a stable, healthy environment for him moving forward.”
“I regret not stepping away from a difficult cycle sooner,” Dakota expressed.
“I’m not perfect, and I take accountability for my part,” he alleged. “I’m sincerely sorry to those I’ve hurt.”
Dakota continued: “At the same time, I don’t agree with how this situation has been portrayed publicly.”
According to him: “It does not reflect the full context of what occurred or the impact it has had on me and my son.”
Dakota wrote that he has “chosen to step away from the spotlight to focus on my family, my growth, and our healing, and that’s where my energy will remain.”
‘For now, my priority is … showing up as the best father I can be’
The reality TV personality added: “I’m closing an unhealthy chapter and moving forward with hope for better days ahead.”
He expressed: “I’m grateful for all of the encouragement and support I’ve received.”
Dakota continued: “And I’m committed to showing up in a way that reflects that.”
He wrote: “My intention, over time and when appropriate, is to use what I’ve learned in a way that supports others navigating similar situations.”
Dakota concluded: “For now, my priority is on showing up as the best father I can be for Ever.”
In case that last line caused confusion, Ever is the name of the 2-year-old son that he and Taylor Frankie Paul share.
The timing of his post seems like it’s not a coincidence. Authorities have announced that they will not be pursuing criminal charges against Taylor.
Even without ample seeds of doubt — like allegations of abuse and questions of Dakota’s motives during the media circus of recent months — domestic violence cases are difficult to prove.
Some believe that all of this ugliness in the public square played out because Dakota felt jealous of Taylor moving on, as the exes had repeatedly hooked up despite being “over.” The Bachelorette had clearly gotten under his skin.
If that’s true, perhaps he realized that this was more than his family could handle. Taylor clearly has some growing to do, though she may be off to a good start.

Joseph Duggar will go in front of a judge in Panama City Beach, Florida today.
The 31-year-old former reality star will enter a plea pertaining to allegations that he molested a 9-year-old girl during a trip to Florida in 2020.
Joseph is currently out on $600,000 bail as he awaits trial. But while Joseph might be a free man at the moment, legal experts believe he’ll soon be joining his eldest brother, Joshua Duggar, in federal prison.
One fact of the case that might be bad news for Joe is that he allegedly admitted that his “intentions were not pure” during a recorded phone conversation with the alleged victim’s father.
“It is evidence of intent, the victim, and the timing of the alleged abuse,” former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani told Fox News this week.
“His lawyers will try to argue that it is too vague and attenuated and try to get it excluded on that basis. I don’t think they will be successful because the statement was made in the context of Duggar also admitting to inappropriate touching under a blanket,” Rahmani continued, adding:
“A judge is unlikely to separate the two statements, and this is why pretext calls like this can be so powerful if they lead to incriminating evidence.”
“During the vacation, the defendant asked the victim to sit on his lap, numerous times,” reads an affidavit obtained by Fox News.
“The victim would sit on the defendant’s lap. The defendant would cradle the victim with his arms. As the vacation continued, the defendant would ask the victim to sit on the couch beside the defendant. The defendant covered the parties with a blanket,” the affidavit continues.
“The victim stated the defendant’s hand was outside of her underwear when these incidents occurred.
“The victim stated this made her feel uncomfortable and confused. The victim stated the defendant eventually approached the victim and apologized for his actions. The incidents stopped occurring after the defendant apologized for his actions.”
“‘My intentions were not pure’ is the kind of statement prosecutors love because they can frame it as a confession without the defendant ever fully confessing,” criminal defense attorney Duncan Levin told Fox News.
“It gives them language they can put in front of a jury and say, in effect, he told you himself. But from a defense standpoint, that phrase is still frustratingly vague.”
Levin, who defended Harvey Weinstein at trial, added that while Joseph’s statement does not amount to a confession, it will make life more difficult for his defense team.
“It is not a clear admission to a criminal act. It could reflect shame, sinful thoughts or inappropriate intent, but criminal cases are supposed to turn on proof of conduct, not ambiguous language,” he said, adding:
“The defense strategy would be to argue that prosecutors are trying to turn a morally charged but indefinite statement into something far more specific than it actually is, and to insist that the state prove the charged conduct with concrete evidence rather than asking jurors to fill in the gaps.”
Joseph is expected to plead not guilty at his arraignment today. We will have further updates on this developing story as new information becomes available.

On Sunday, April 19, Travis took to his Instagram page to share a series of photos to celebrate his wife.
“Happy Birthday my beautiful wife,” he began his tribute. “I love you forever and ever.”
Travis gushed: “Thank you for being such an amazing woman, an incredible wife, and the best mom to our humans. I feel so grateful to spend this life with you @kourtneykardash.”
His caption also included a black heart emoji.
Most of the photos are exactly what you’d expect from a birthday tribute to a world-famous MILF.
We see the couple cuddling. There are also multiple photos of their child, whose name is Rocky Thirteen.
Travis opted to post a couple of certified thirst traps of his wife. That’s allowed.
The final photo of the set, however, shows him giving his wife a kiss. But not on her mouth.

Naturally, the photo of Travis sucking on Kourt’s toes broke containment pretty darn quickly.
It’s across multiple social media platforms.
To some, of course, this is an erotic photo, perhaps the subject of an envious fixation.
Others, however, are reeling from the unexpected look at an intimate moment between these two.
As you can see, even just this small sampling of commenters — including real fans — questioned whether Travis needed to include the toe-sucking pic.
We’ll admit that we, too, could have done without seeing Travis kissing Kourt’s toes.
Now, this doesn’t fully look like foot-worship like foot fetish content might include. At most, this would be a prelude to it.
But it is still a very intimate moment that most (but not all) of the couple’s fans didn’t feel a need to see.
That said, there’s definitely some laughter at the expense of foot-fetishists. Even though this photo is really just a husband kissing the nearest part of his wife.
Foot fetishists are often the butt of jokes when they’d rather be the foot of jokes, in part because their kink is non-controversial and more easily publicly discussed despite being relatively uncommon. Sometimes, it’s harmless! But the jokes can sometimes be mean.
Well, they have one person’s support
In response to Travis’ post, Kim Kardashian shared her take.
“I love this post,” she wrote to her brother-in-law, “and all of these pics.”
That’s pretty specific language.
Maybe she’s trolling “the haters,” but Kim seems to be making it clear that there isn’t one single photo that doesn’t meet with her approval.
At the end of the day, the only person who needs to approve of Travis’ toe-sucking is Kourtney. His followers can always just unfollow, if they like.

We have tragic news to report from the world of television.
Patrick Muldoon — the beloved star who was best known for his work on Days of Our Lives — has passed away.
News of his death comes courtesy of a statement from his sister, Shana Muldoon-Zappa.
According to Shana, Muldoon took a shower after drinking coffee with his girlfriend at their Beverly Hills home on Sunday morning.
After noticing that he’d been in longer than usual, the girlfriend went to check on Patrick and found him unconscious on the floor.
She called 911, but paramedics announced Muldoon dead at the scene.
Friends described Muldoon as “endlessly generous — with his poetry, his humor, and his unmistakable presence,” according to Page Six.
Though he racked up dozens of credits over the course of his career, Muldoon is likely best known for his work as Austin Reed on “Days of Our Lives” from 1992 to 1995, and then again from 2011 to 2012.
Muldoon also had recurring roles on the iconic 1990s sitcoms Who’s the Boss? and Saved By the Bell, where he played Jeff, the Max manager who briefly came between Zack Morris and Kelly Kapowski.
On the bid screen, Mudoon had roles in films like Deadlock (2021), Vanquish (2021), Dakota (2022), Marlowe (2022), and Murder At Hollow Creek (2023).
He also appeared in the movie Dirty Hands, which will be released later this year.
Muldoon was also an executive producer on a movie that’s currently in production, Kockroach, which will star Chris Hemsworth, Taron Egerton, and Zazie Beetz.
The film is set for release in 2027.

The arrest of Joseph Duggar almost feels inevitable, given the family’s history and the cult’s extreme beliefs.
We do not know the identity of the 9-year-old victim whom he allegedly molested in 2020. But she was likely a family friend, if not closer.
Cousin Amy Duggar is speaking up about the steps that she’s taking to keep her own young child safe.
And she doesn’t have to name-drop either of her disgraced cousins to bring them to mind.
‘We will protect your world fiercely’
On Sunday, April 19, Amy took to her Instagram page to share a message about the safety of her 6-year-old son, Daxton.
“We can’t shield you from the whole world,” she began, “but we will protect your world fiercely.”
Amy continued: “Your safety, your steadiness, and the life we’re building around you.”
Referring to her husband, Dillon King, she wrote: “Dad and I will never be passive about who we allow near you.”
In the post’s conclusion, Amy acknowledged: “Not everyone deserves a place in your story.”
“We are the gatekeepers of their safety, their peace, and their innocence,” Amy wrote in the Instagram post’s caption.
“And we shouldn’t open doors just because someone expects us to,” she acknowledged.
“Access is earned,” Amy affirmed, “not assumed.”
She advised: “It should be a privilege for someone to know your child, it’s not a right!”
Amy concluded: “And peace at home is worth more than approval from anyone outside of it.”
Is she missing the real danger?
We all know that, for decades, a public campaign to warn children about predators arguably backfired.
“Stranger danger” can be real. But children are much more likely to run afoul of physical abuse, sexual abuse, or both at the hands of family — especially close family — and other “trusted adult” caretakers.
That said, we think that Amy knows this. Perhaps even better than most.
She is the cousin of Josh Duggar. She is the cousin of Joseph Duggar.
Additionally, Amy describes her own grandfather as a “predator.” Josh was not the first monster in the family.
Amy appears to simply be saying that no one is entitled to spend one-on-one time with her son.
(It’s true that the accused Duggar men all allegedly pursued little girls, which is the most common form of predation. But some predators target boys or are simply indiscriminate, seeking a victim above all else.)
That doesn’t just mean that she’s careful about babysitters.
Clearly, Amy and her husband are also making it clear that they’re not just going to drop off the kids with the main Duggar clan and head off for a weekend getaway.
(Truth be told, dropping off your child with members of an abusive cult would be ill-advised, even if there were zero sexual predators in the mix. CSA is not the only harm that can befall a child.)
Could someone ever be TOO over-protective?
Obviously, it is common sense to go to great lengths to protect one’s child, especially from opportunists and abusers.
But there are ways in which “protecting” a child can also cause home. Hopefully, Amy understands this.
Not allowing a child to meet any other adults (instead of introducing them to adults but ensuring that they remain safe) is poor socialization. Even worse is keeping a child isolated from meeting random, age-appropriate peers.
In fact, we see this in the Duggar cult. Much of the family subjects their children to homeschooling. Even if they were qualified teachers teaching a real curriculum (which is not what’s happening), their kids are missing out on meeting other children and experiencing the real world.
The most important step in safeguarding a child against predators is making sure that they have the language to explain what happens to them, and the context that a predator is doing wrong.
