Last year, Jelly Roll revealed his stunning weight loss.

Some fans were happy for him. Others worried for his health after such a rapid transformation.

Now, he admits that he has fallen out of his fitness routine, for a plurality of reasons.

Knowing that he’d regained weight, he was “afraid” to step onto the scale — until now.

He feels ‘scared’ to step onto the scale

In his new YouTube video, Jelly Roll — whose real name is Jason DeFord — shared his anxiety with viewers.

Taking on a confessional tone, he explained that he had decided to “enjoy the holidays.”

As a result, he revealed, he had “lost” his “way” when it came to his dietary and exercise goals.

His fitness habits were also increased, DeFord explained, when he was hospitalized with a broken collarbone several months ago.

That injury and recovery meant that he had to “quit” running, walking, and other forms of exercise for a “period of time.”

As a result of taking this unplanned time off from his routine, DeFord has been avoiding stepping onto the scale.

In case you needed a refresher (though his preview image on the above YouTube video is a good reminder), he weighed over 500 pounds as recently as 2023.

Since then, he has lost more than half of that weight.

As of the end of 2025, his weight loss totaled 275 pounds.

After months of taking a break and then more months being unable to exercise, he’s faced mounting fears of backsliding on his progress.

“We hit the goal and it was right before the holidays,” DeFord explained in the Saturday, April 18 video.

“So I was like, ‘You know what man, I’ve been working hard for the last three years losing this weight, I’m going to enjoy the holidays.’”

He shared: “I had a big Thanksgiving meal, I had a big birthday meal, I ate a big Christmas meal.”

DeFord admitted: “Kinda got off the rails and I broke my collarbone … a few days before Christmas.”

Notably, the news of his injury only came months later, in early March.

DeFord very openly confessed to his viewers that he has been “avoiding the scale” in more recent weeks.

He shared that he felt “scared” to step on it, “afraid” of what the numbers would say.

However, in the video that he recorded earlier this month, he did step onto the scale.

On April 10, he weighed 276.2 pounds. (He recorded this segment of the video over a week before posting it.)

DeFord told viewers that he had gained 12 pounds.

What about his body transformation journey?

The truth of the matter is that bodies are always transforming, for good or for ill — but, most often, in neutral ways.

It is one of the many horrors of being alive. And while humanity will one day cure unwanted changes such as aging and death, that kind of innovation is decades away.

For now, we all need to acknowledge realities. Lost weight comes back. Joints stop working like they once did.

Loving your body in any form can be great, for some. Body neutrality — acknowledging what your body is and what your body needs without placing a moral value on size, shape, or more — is more helpful and more important.

Like everyone, DeFord deserves to have exactly the body that he desires. But he also deserves to know that almost no one gets, let alone maintains, their true body goal.

We have sad news to report from the world of music today.

Dave Mason — who co-founded the legendary rock band Traffic along with Steve Winwood — has passed away.

News of his death comes courtesy of a statement issued on behalf of Mason’s family.

“On behalf of his family, it is with deep and profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Dave Mason,” a spokesperson told People today, adding:

“Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, celebrated songwriter, musician, singer, and author passed away peacefully at his home in Gardnerville, Nevada

“Dave Mason lived a remarkable life devoted to the music and the people he loved.”

Born in Worcester, UK in 1946, Mason — along with Mason, Winwood, Jim Capaldi, and Chris Wood — founded Traffic in the 1960s.

The band — which scored hits with “Hole In My Shoe” and “Feelin’ Alright?” — was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.

Mason’s family did not reveal his cause of death, but the rock legend revealed that he had been battling “ongoing health concerns” in recent years.

In 2024, he revealed that he was suffering from a “severe infection”. He stated that he was still “courageously battling” the following year and was forced to cancel his tour as a result.

“I’m incredibly grateful to my team of doctors,” Mason wrote in a statement at the time “This has been challenging territory, to say the least.”

Mason is survived by his wife, Winifred Wilson, and daughter Danielle. Our thoughts go out to his loved ones during this difficult time.

In the middle of March, The Secret Wives of Mormon Wives halted filming, just before all hell broke loose.

Now, the show is gearing up to start filming again.

Taylor Frankie Paul will be returning when she’s ready.

Her ex, Dakota Mortensen, will not.

The hiatus is (nearly) over!

TMZ reports that Hulu is finally mobilizing to resume production on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

(Can you believe that it’s only been, like, a month and some change since they paused filming? That was an entire canceled season of The Bachelorette ago.)

Taylor plans to return to the series when she is ready.

Her life has been completely turned upside down over the past five weeks. She’s recovering from a lot right now.

However, even when she returns, the cast of the reality series won’t quite be the same.

As it turns out, Dakota will not be returning to The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives to film when production resumes.

He and Taylor share a lot of history.

(As has become abundantly clear in recent weeks, plenty of that history is ugly, with allegations of domestic violence on both sides.)

Additionally, they also share a two-year-old, Ever.

However, production cameras and editors alike may have to do some fast footwork to keep her story uncoupled from her ex.

Is it possible to tell someone’s story while excluding an ex?

Believe it or not, Taylor’s situation is not unprecedented in the world of reality television.

Across many networks and reality series, certain things have had to be excluded from shows in ways that producers hope won’t feel conspicuous to audiences.

Sometimes, it’s a little thing. Editors for 90 Day Fiance and Mama June: Family Crisis have scrubbed out racist hate symbols that would otherwise be on casual display.

(Advertisers don’t like their commercials to air right after a swastika tattoo was on screen!)

But there are more dramatic examples. Exes in bitter divorces, exes who don’t allow their children to film on the spouse’s show, exes who are accused of terrible crimes and will no longer appear on camera.

Though Taylor’s situation is not unique, that does not make it less painful for everyone involved.

At the moment, she’s focused upon healing, her mental health, and upon being a mom.

It’s unclear how much of a deep dive the show plans to do on what’s gone on in her life.

(She’s not facing prosecution, but there’s always a chance that topics like this could end up in court — so talking about them on camera is tricky!)

But still, after such a massive scandal, it would be weird if they didn’t talk about it when she returns.

It’s just a huge mess

Even without weighing in on either abuse allegation, critics have suggested that Taylor’s season of The Bachelorette — which remained shelved, perhaps indefinitely — was what prompted all of this.

There is a widespread belief that Dakota, who had previously been hooking up with Taylor at times despite their divorce, felt jealous that she filmed for the show.

(And that she may have found a new man.)

Some believe that this jealousy is why a video from three years ago suddenly became public, in an attempt to sabotage Taylor’s whole life.

For about a month, it worked. As for what happens in the future … we’ll see, we suppose.

Even as fans are still buzzing about exciting Sydney Sweeney casting news, the pendulum swings.

We’re all excited for

But if you were looking forward to Sweeney’s cameo — playing herself — resign yourself to reality now.

After multiple controversies over the past year, she’s been cut from the final film. Why?

She would have portrayed herself for a three-minute scene

Originally, Sweeney would have portrayed herself in The Devil Wears Prada 2.

The scene would have lasted just a few minutes, featuring her being styled by Emily Blunt’s character, Emily Charlton.

Some celebrity cameos are tongue-in-cheek, sometimes involving a bit of humorous self-mockery.

Others are very straightforward — an actor or singer portraying themselves earnestly.

We may never get to know what Sweeney’s scene would have looked like. Because it’s gone.

Though Sweeney filmed the scene, Entertainment Weekly reports that its removal from the final cut was a “creative decision.”

Ultimately, the scene did not work structurally for the overall film.

Anyone who has worked in any creative storytelling field can attest that, sometimes, you have to exclude scenes, events, or even entire characters for the sake of the overall story.

In a film, time is extremely valuable, and any error can create painful pacing issues.

The team behind The Devil wears Prada 2 is reportedly grateful for Sweeney’s participation in the project, and were reluctant to cut the scene from the final product.

But what about the elephant (or eagle) in the room?

It’s probably not a sign of hard feelings or whatever that Sweeney didn’t attend the premiere on Monday, April 20.

Even if she’d still appeared in the final cut, she would have been a cameo, not a lead. And she didn’t even appear in that.

(Few films seek to draw attention to what-might-have-been alternate cuts unless there are serious creative differences, like between a director and a studio.)

But Sweeney filmed her scene last summer. She was, to be blunt, a much less polarizing figure at the time.

Following her not-actually-that-controversial American Eagle add, she’s avoided rejecting Donald Trump’s approval, she’s gone public with dating Scooter Braun, and unconfirmed Zendaya feud rumors have only mounted.

To be clear, Sweeney has not actually made public statements to cater to bad guys who seem to want to be her biggest fans.

But critics argue that her reluctance to distance herself from them by simply outright rejecting endorsements from the worst and weirdest people alive is damning in and of itself.

(Should she? Yes. But we can fully understand that she’s been put in a no-win scenario as people continue to make up their own stories about who she is and what her values are.)

For now, any time that she is cast in something or not cast in something, invited or disinvited, people are going to read more into it than is probably there.

People are unable to be normal about Sweeney. That’s fuel for her career, but it also feels like her own personal hell.

Bur Shania had the last laugh, as she’s currently married to Marie-Anne’s former husband, Frederic Thiébaud.

Shania spoke about her divorce during a recent episode of the “Great Company With Jamie Laing” podcast.

“Forgiveness is in the family of letting go. But forgiveness, more specifically for me anyway, is not about forgetting necessarily,” she said.

“It’s about understanding the other person, and that might mean that they’re wrong … Maybe you believe forever that whatever they did was wrong,” Shania continued, adding:

“Do I hate my ex-husband for making a mistake? No. It’s his mistake. Not my mistake.”

“So sad for him that he made such a great mistake that he has to live with. And I don’t know what that is, but it’s not … That’s not my weight,” she continued.

“My father’s a better example, OK, because this is someone that I totally forgive.”

Shania has spoken previously about the abuse she endured as a child and her long journey toward forgiving her stepfather.

In an earlier interview on the “Armchair Expert” podcast, Shania said that when they both learned their spouses had cheated, her now-husband handled the news much better than she did.

“He was so thoughtful about it all … It was not cool with him, but he was smarter about it,” she said.

“I was uncontrollably fragile over it, which I had never felt before ever because I thought for once I was stable,” Shania added.

“I really believe that I’m safe. So that really devastated me I think more than any other instability I’ve ever felt,” Twain added at the time.

Fortunately, Shania found her happy ending, and she and Frederic are still going strong.

To paraphrase one of Twain’s best-known songs, Frederic is clearly still the one!

Back in July of 2025, Hulk Hogan passed away unexpectedly.

Now, a controversial Netflix documentary is revealing new information about the wrestling legend’s final days.

In his final interview, which is just now being made public, Hogan — whose real name was Terry Bollea — revealed that at one point, he was consuming a potentially lethal amount of fentanyl on a daily basis.

“I was taking 80 milligram fentanyls, two in the morning, stuffing them under my gums…I had two 300-milligram patches of fentanyl on my legs, and they gave me six 1,500 milligram fentanyl lollipops to eat,” Hulk says in the doc, which is currently available for streaming.

“You should be dead. We have never seen a human being take this much fentanyl,” a pharmacist told the wrestler at one point.

The heavy drug consumption began in 2009 when Hogan began competing for the TNA wrestling organization.

His divorce from wife Linda Hogan had financially devastated Hulk and left him with little choice but to step back into the ring.

Unfortunately, he was in his late fifties by then, and he quickly realized that his body could no longer sustain the sort of grueling workouts and performances that he has endured in his younger days.

“His back was in so much pain,” Hogan’s friend and former manager Eric Bischoff recalls in the documentary.

“I would literally have to go to his hotel, help him get out of bed, get into the shower,” to get ready to appear at events, “that he was contractually obligated to do.”

In interviews that took place just weeks before his death at the age of 71, Hogan revealed that he was still in a tremendous amount of pain.

“I feel okay but it’s a pain,” he says about his health. “I have my son take the tops off water bottles for me, because I can’t turn them.”

He explained in the documentary that the situation is “kind of embarrassing,” but it “keeps me humble.”

As with much of his life, Hogan’s final days were defined by personal strife, with his daughter, Brooke Hogan, being written out of his will and later revealing that she and her father were unable to heal their fractured relationship ahead of his death.
