Last week, R&B singer D4vd was arrested in connection with the death Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
On Monday, more than seven months after a body was found in the trunk of his car, D4vd was charged with murdering Rivas Hernandez.
Earlier today, the singer was back in court for a hearing in which both sides presented new information, including a claim from the prosecution that d4vd — whose real name is David Burke — had stored a “significant amount” of child sexual abuse images on his phone.
Prosecutors said today that they have more than 40 terabytes of discovery to turn over to the defense.
Thus far, only about 30 percent of the evidence has been turned over, a fact that is expected to delay the start of the trial.
Currently, D4vd is being held without bail at Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles.
According to NBC News, the 21-year-old was “stoic” in the courtroom today.
He spoke only twice, once mumbling “yeah” when the judge asked if he agreed to the date of his next hearing, which is set for Friday, May 1.
On a second occasion, David said, “Yes, ma’am,” when the judge asked if he understood how his next hearing would be conducted.
Attorneys for Burke claimed that their client is innocent of any wrongdoing, and they announced their intention to “vigorously defend his innocence.”
It is unclear at this time how much of the massive data file recovered from Burke’s devices is believed to be sexual abuse material.
Prosecutors also did not reveal if any of the explicit images were of Rivas.
The 14-year-old disappeared from home in April of last year. Prosecutors allege that Burke murdered her with a sharp object shortly thereafter before dismembering her body and hiding it in the trunk of his Tesla.
The Rivas Hernandez family was not present in court today
“These findings have caused profound emotional pain for the family,” Rivas Hernandez family attorney Patrick Steinfeld said this week.
“They respectfully ask for privacy, understanding, and patience as they process this information.”

Kendra and Joseph Duggar might be receiving plenty of support from his family as he battles child molestation charges.
But Kendra’s family is being much more objective about this situation, choosing to believe the teenage girl who came forward and alleged that Joseph molested her in 2020, when she was just 9 years old.
In a statement posted to their Instagram page, Kendra’s parents, Paul and Christina Caldwell, praised the accuser for having the courage to talk to police.
“We are devastated for the young girl, a child who was courageous in every way to share her truth. We stand by her, both in support and prayer, and forever will,” the Caldwells wrote.
“Our love for this child remains at the forefront of our family’s priorities and minds. We are proud of her for being strong enough to share her story while also retaining her own identity and joy,” the couple continued, adding:
“We pray all victims of crimes can be as courageous as this young girl is. They should be able to share their story, to trust in the judicial process, and to do so without fear of retaliation. You are not alone.”
While the Caldwells might not be on speaking terms with their daughter and son-in-law (more on that later), they made sure to express their love and concern for their four grandkids by Joe and Kendra.
“At the same time, we also recognize how traumatic this incident has been for our grandchildren as well and continue to pray for their strength. Our love for them, and our daughter Kendra, remains,” the Caldwells wrote.
The Caldwells and the Duggars used to be quite close.
In fact, Paul Caldwell was the Duggars’ pastor for several years, and we probably don’t need to tell you that this family takes their religion quite seriously.
But these days, there are unconfirmed reports that the Caldwells were the ones who reported Joseph’s crimes to the police.
We don’t know if that’s true, but there’s definitely been some sort of falling out.
In one of Joseph and Kendra’s prison phone calls, we learned that they owned the house that Kendra’s parents were living in, and they were planning to kick them out.
“The only way to freedom is to shine light in the darkness. And in this time, part of the light in our lives has come through the outpouring of love and prayer from people near and far,” the Caldwells wrote in their statement, adding:
“Thank you who have given in all the ways, through prayer, finances, time, energy and words of encouragement. We love you all.
“At this time, we have no further comment and request privacy,” they concluded.
Joseph entered a not guilty plea at his April 20 arraignment. He is currently free on $600,000 bail.

Bravo viewers have seen ugly The Real Housewives of Atlanta divorces before.
But this one is downright chilling.
Drew Sidora has already been fighting the order for her to vacate the marital home, citing that she does not have the money to move.
She has also asked the court to review what she says is video evidence of her estranged husband abusing their child. Awful stuff.
Obvious content warning for descriptions of alleged child-abuse
TMZ obtained divorce court documents that reveal Sidora’s abuse allegation against estranged husband Ralph Pittman.
In the filing, Sidora asks the judge to reconsider a previous order that she vacate the former couple’s Georgia home.
At present, she is required to leave the residence by the end of May.
As Sidora has previously expressed, she does not currently have the funds to move — or she’d likely be out already.
She has asked the court to reverse the decision, otherwise she fears that she will become homeless.
During a previous hearing, Pittman blamed Sidora for one of their children being excessively tardy to school.
Apparently, this was enough for the judge to award primary custody of their two children to Pittman — at least for now.
But Sidora accuses Pittman of being monstrously abusive.
In her filing, she reminds the court that she previously submitted evidence in the form of “a video in which [Pittman] can be heard severely beating the parties’ son.”
According to Sidora, Pittman admitted to the abuse in 2024 — but then denied it during a March 2026 hearing.
It’s unclear why the court previously ruled in Pittman’s favor
Sidora’s filing expresses confusion over why the court awarded primary custody to Pittman.
She wrote that he has a “documented history of physically abusing the parties’ son.”
Pittman has yet to publicly respond to the filing, which has now become public knowledge.
Meanwhile, the court has not yet ruled on Sidora’s filing.
We should add that Sidora’s documents allege that Pittman has admitted that the house’s mortgage is $25,000 behind.
Presumably, the court will review evidence of the vile abuse that Sidora describes within the filing.
One would hope that, if it matches her description, the custody arrangement would be corrected immediately.
That said, as we have noted before, the United States legal system does not really prioritize children’s safety or humanity, especially not in the face of “parents’ rights.”
It is our hope that this recording does not become public. Some victims personally share videos to expose their abusers, but circulating something like that against a victim’s will would re-victimize them rather than rescue them.
Our hearts go out to the children. Our society and our legal system have already failed them.

Despite (or because of) the many scandals, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is a success.
Hulu’s looking to reheat their nachos with a spinoff, filming in Orange County.
Some of the women from the new show’s cast are already famous, even if they’re not household names.
And a couple of these women are arguably infamous.
‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County’ is coming later this year
On Wednesday, April 22, Hulu confirmed that The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County will premiere later in 2026.
According to the press release, these are women whose “beliefs are not just their religion; they are their identity.”
The release teased: “While some defend their way of life, fighting against modernity, others embrace change, becoming a platform to disrupt the status quo.”
Hulu continued: “Scandals and secrets will be revealed, facades will crumble, and families and friendships will change forever on both sides of the battlefield.”
The teaser added: “As this group of strong, game-changing influencers comes together to build their answer to #MomTok.”
Additionally, we learned the cast of this new reality series.
As the title (and the show that inspired it) might suggest, these are a lot of very creative names with equally inventive spellings.
The cast will include Bobbi Althoff, Aspyn Ovard, Avery Woods, Salomé Andrea, McCall DaPron, Chandler Higginson, Ashleigh Pease, and Madison Fisher (formerly Bontempo).
Fisher, Pease, Higginson, Andrea, and Woods are all TikTokers and influencers.
Meanwhile, some of them are a little better known — and, at times, a little infamous.
Which of these women is already ‘famous’ in certain circles?
McCall DaPron, for example, is the sister of Mayci Neeley, who is a The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives OG.
On Wednesday, she coyly confessed to her Instagram followers that she has been “keeping a secret.”
In 2024, Aspyn Ovard gained a lot of attention when she filed to divorce her then-husband, Parker Ferris.
Why was that such a big deal? Because she filed on the same day that she announced the birth of their third child. Oof!
“15 years with you all and now we are going to be on hulu 2026!!!!!!!!!!” she cheered on Instagram.
Most controversial of all — at least, for now — is Bobbi Althoff.
Though she first gained some degree of attention on TikTok for pregnancy posting several years ago, it was in 2023 — when she launched her Really Good Podcast (that’s the name, not our appraisal) — that she went viral.
Some have accused Althoff of being some sort of industry plant. It’s not really clear what the 28-year-old podcast host brings to her interviews.
Others have accused her of lacking personality due to her flat deliveries. Which, again, reinforces the confusion over her casting.
When Hulu gives us a SLOMW: OC trailer, maybe we’ll know what the show will offer. For now, it’s clear that they’re hoping to expand upon the original series’ success.

On Wednesday, we reported on the news that Darrell Sheets had died at the age of 67.
The Storage Wars star is believed to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Now, police are investigating the events leading up to Sheets’ death, as they have reason to believe that online harassment may have played a role.
Sheets was found dead in his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
Now, authorities in that town say they’re looking into claims that the reality TV vet had become a victim of vicious cyberbullying.
“We are aware of these cyberbullying accusations, and that is a part of the active investigation,” said a spokesperson for the department.
Little is known about the circumstances of the alleged bullying, but we’re sure that more will be revealed as the investigation progresses.
A spokesperson says that on Wednesday, police responded to a call about “a reported deceased individual.”
“Upon arrival, officers located a male subject who suffered from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head,” read the press release.
“The male was pronounced deceased on scene, and the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit was notified and responded to the scene to assume the investigation,” the spokesperson continued, adding:
“The body was ultimately turned over to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s office for further investigation. The male subject has been identified as Darrell Sheets, a 67-year-old resident of Lake Havasu City, and Darrell’s family has been notified.”
No official cause of death has been revealed, but People and other outlets were quick to report that Sheets appeared to have died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
It might be a long time before we know more about Sheets’ final hours, but in the meantime, his former Storage Wars colleagues are among the many paying tribure on social media.
“I’m at a loss for words! I’ve known Darrel Sheets for many years. I’m just so very sorry, to hear the circumstances of his passing. My heart hurts for Brandon, Zoe, and Kimber,” Brandi Passante wrote on Instagram, adding:
“I unfortunately lost a parent and a brother to similar situations. I would like to say to everyone, if you are struggling, if you feel hopeless or like no one cares. I assure you they do!! You are not alone.
“Please reach out for help. You are not taking your pain away, you are transferring it to someone else. The grief from suicide is endless. There is always help.”

Back in February, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi revealed her cervical cancer diagnosis.
It was a shock to the 38-year-old Jersey Shore star and to her fans.
Now, she’s opening up about her treatment plans, including an upcoming hysterectomy.
It’s scary. But fear is what had her avoiding screenings until it was almost too late. She can do this.
Stage 1 cervical cancer
Speaking to People, Nicole Polizzi explains that she reacted to her stage 1 cervical cancer diagnosis in a very understandable way.
“I had a breakdown,” she described. “I got to my car and I called my mom hysterically crying, thinking the worst.”
She revealed that she had ignored her doctor’s advice, putting off getting a new Pap smear for over a year before this appointment.
That bad news came in February. The good news is that it hasn’t spread.
The more complex news is that Polizzi will need to undergo a hysterectomy in these coming months. After that, she won’t need any further treatment.
“I was scared,” Polizzi admitted.
“But you know what?” she continued. “It’s not the worst case and I can still deal with it.”
Polizzi affirmed: “I’m gonna be fine.”
A cancer diagnosis is always scary. And a hysterectomy is major surgery.
However, it sounds like her prognosis is good. She also has the financial means and support system to undergo surgery and recover without upending her life.
There were warning signs, but she avoided painful screenings
Polizzi recalled that, starting about four years ago, she began receiving abnormal Pap smear results.
Doctors found precancerous cells, which were “nothing crazy,” as she put it.
Still, her doctors had her come in for screenings six times as often as the normal recommendation — every six months, rather than every three years.
But, more recently, Polizzi began putting off the uncomfortable screenings.
“I ended up not going for like a year and a half because it’s uncomfortable, it’s not fun,” she admitted.
“I knew something bad could happen,” Polizzi confessed, “but instead of dealing with it, I just pretended it wasn’t happening.”
In 2025, her doctor did not give up. That professional persistence may have saved her life.
“My doctor was leaving me a voicemail screaming at me like, ‘You need to get in here. This is serious. You don’t want it to escalate.’ That’s when I finally went in,” Polizzi described.
She underwent a colposcopy and a cone biopsy, which found “severe cancer cells.” Fortunately, they found them in time.
“Even though I’m done having kids, the thought of not being able to really upset me,” Polizzi said of her upcoming colonoscopy. “It messes with you a little bit.”
Still, she affirmed: “I have a ton of people that are here for me and they love me.” They’ll support her through this journey, including her recovery.

Cheating scandals are usually pretty straightforward:
Two people get accused, the truth comes out, and everyone proceeds from there.
But in the case of Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini, it almost seems like they can’t decide if they cheated or not.
In case you missed it, Vrabel and Russini were spotted hugging and holding hands while they were both staying at a luxury resort in Arizona last month. That might be a problem, as they’re both married to other people.
In the aftermath, Russini resigned from her post at The Athletic, but in her resignation letter, she continued to deny any wrongdoing.
Now, Vrabel is moving in a similarly confusing direction.
While he has yet to admit that his relationship with Russini was inappropriate, Vrabel revealed this week that he will be checking into counseling and will miss the third day of this weekend’s NFL Draft as a result.
“As I said the other day, I promised my family, this organization, and this team that I was going to give them the best version of me that I can possibly give them. In order to do so, I have committed to seeking counseling, starting this weekend,” Vrabel told ESPN.
“This is something that I have given a lot of thought to and is something I would advise a player to do if I was counseling them.”
Vrabel initially dismissed the cheating allegations as “laughable.” When asked about those comments in a recent press conference, he was quick to sidestep the question.
“I appreciate the question. I’m going to focus on our football team,” he said.
“I think I’ve addressed what I felt like was important. So, we’ll be focusing on our football team and the importance of teaching these guys, bringing a new team together, 13 new players,” Vrabel continued, adding:
”I’ve had some difficult conversations with people that I care about. My family, the organization, the coaches, the players. Those have been positive and productive.”
So Vrabel is having “hard conversations,” and he’s missing important team events in order to check into counseling, but he still won’t admit to any wrongdoing?
This might not be the high character path that he thinks it is. As a two-time NFL Coach of the Year winner, Vrabel probably knows that, unlike Russini’s, his job is safe.
But that doesn’t mean his bosses are thrilled with his handling of this situation.
