The conviction of Karmelo Anthony just gained a disturbing new layer of controversy.

Just days after Anthony was sentenced to 35 years in prison, the father of slain teen Austin Metcalf took to social media to share his thoughts on the verdict.

And instead of offering his condolences to Karmelo’s parents or calling for compassion and empathy, as many hoped he would, Jeff Metcalf is stoking the flames of racial hatred.

During an appearance on Sarah Fields’ “JinxedSip” podcast, Metcalf unleashed a tirade of anger, much of it laden with truly shocking bigotry.

Metcalf began by calling out Karmelo’s father, saying, “Andrew Anthony, you’re a p–sy and a coward, and you raised one.”

He then turned his attention to Karmelo’s mother, saying:

“Kala, you drunk b–ch. What did you do to that boy to make him stab somebody? My God, what kind of mother are you?

Austin then turns his attention to someone named Kevin Hayes, who allegedly wanted to fight him.

He refers to Hayes as “the only one in your family without a record,” then says, “I guess that’s something to brag about in your culture.”

It’s at that point that the rant becomes even more explicitly racist:

“You people hang your hat on the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen,” Metcalf seethes.

“Let me make something racist up so y’all can go viral. I got a new name for ‘Melo … How about ‘Watermelon Felon?’ How’s that one strike you?”

Metcalf then taunts Kala and Andrew about Karmelo’s future:

“I hope he enjoyed his first night in that cell last night. Because he’s gonna have many nights to think about what the f–k he did.

Metcalf then makes a rather dubious claim, saying:

“I forgave him so that I don’t carry the hate and the anger. So that I don’t get ate up. Like cancer, it kills you from the inside.

“So when people ask me, ‘How can you forgive him?’ If I didn’t, I would’ve wound up killing him and going to prison myself.”

When discussing the Anthony case, it’s important to bear in mind that we’re talking about two sets of parents consumed by grief over two promising young lives cut short.

Austin Metcalf is dead at the age of 17. Karmelo Anthony will be nearly 40 before he’s even eligible for parole.

All of this over a momentary altercation at a high school track meet.

The situation is almost unfathomably tragic, and despite his claims to the contrary, we have no doubt that Jeff Metcalf is consumed with outrage over the senseless circumstances of his son’s death.

But none of that gives him the excuse to make the situation even more horrific and dangerous by encouraging racial hatred toward the Anthony family.

The reaction to Metcalf’s comments has been predictably negative, but sadly, he’s already found quite a few supporters in the darker corners of social media.

In other words, he has succeeded in making a horrific situation even worse.

Earlier this spring, Lindsie Chrisley’s DUI arrest showed that things aren’t quite right with her.

Considering her family and her latest boyfriend, that was no surprise.

Kailyn Lowry explained that Lindsie is taking a little break from their podcast. We hope that she’s getting the help that she needs.

Jenelle Evans, however, says that Kail is hiding the truth. Did she kick Lindsie off of their shared podcast?

She’s ‘taking time to heal’

On a recent episode of the Coffee Convos podcast, Kailyn confirmed that Lindsie will no longer be her special guest on the “Fatherless Behavior” podcast tour.

Now, this is not a huge surprise.

Lindise’s May 24 DUI arrest made plenty of headlines, after all.

Kail explained that her co-host is “taking time to heal and kind of sort of reevaluate whatever it is she’s going to do next.”

To be clear, Kailyn did not at any point say that this was some sort of deliberate uncoupling due to the arrest or whatever.

Jenelle Evans is saying that she would have used the bad press — a topic with which she is intimately familiar — to drive up podcast numbers.

“Honestly, if that was me, and Lindsie got a DUI, I wouldn’t have kicked Lindsie off the podcast,” she said on an ill-advised TikTok Live.

Jenelle added: “I literally would be like, ‘This is gonna be used for our advantage.’

“Like, I feel like lots of people have got DUIs before,” Jenelle commented, calling back memories of Deavon Clegg’s allegations about her endangering her kids with impaired driving.

She continued: “No, it’s not great that she got a DUI, but hopefully she learns from it, but then she can talk about it.”

‘You’re not good enough for Kail’

According to Jenelle, Kail ditched Lindsie as soon as she caught some heat. Does that sound likely?

“If your reputation’s not good enough, you’re not good enough for Kail, you know,” she claimed. (This line in particular really, really seems like projection.)

Jenelle then claimed that her erstwhile fellow Teen Mom castmate had “said or told everyone that Lindsie’s off the podcast now.”

She then harped upon a familiar story, saying that she’d be happy to be cohosts with Lindsie.

Notably, Jenelle has previously claimed that she and Lindsie nearly collaborated on a podcast. Lindsie denied the claim at the time, calling it “outlandish.”

Taking to Facebook, of all places, Kailyn made it clear that she “didn’t kick Lindsie off the pod.”

In fact, it doesn’t sound like she could, even if she wanted to.

“She is still 50 [percent] owner,” Kail clarified.

Kailyn removed her list of podcasts from her Instagram bio to make it easier for fans to purchase tickets to her upcoming tour.

“There’s nothing else to it,” she confirmed. “Just wanted to clear those things up.”

He might not be a reality star anymore, but James Kennedy remains messy enough to fuel a dozen seasons of a Bravo show.

As we previously reported, Kennedy is expecting his first child with his current girlfriend.

There’s nothing inherently messy about that news (well, unless you consider how recently Kennedy was arrested for allegedly assaulting his previous girlfriend), but the more we learn about this situation, the ickier it gets.

Until today, we didn’t know anything about James’ baby mama.

But now, the troubled ex-Vanderpump Rules star has identified her as 23-year-old North Carolina native Jordan Meyers.

“We are thrilled to share that Jordan and I are expecting our first child together,” Kennedy said in a statement issued to People on Friday.

“We have previously kept our relationship out of the public eye, and this is the first time we’re sharing it publicly,” he continued, adding:

“We wanted to keep things personal while we were building our relationship together, and we’ve shared this news privately with close friends and family for some time now.”

“The second I met James, we instantly felt such a strong spark between us,” Meyers chimed in.

Jordan went on to reveal that she and James met on Instagram,

“We initially connected on Instagram and then met in person at one of his shows. I’m from North Carolina, so I went to visit James for what was supposed to be ‘three days,’ which has now turned into eight months together,” she said, adding:

“Watching our love grow and preparing to become parents together has been the most incredible experience,” adds Meyers.

Now, Jordan is 11 years James’ junior, which is not a massive age gap, but the fact that a dude in his mid-thirties was chatting up fans in their early twenties on social media? Well, it might not do any favors for his battered public image.

Just four months after the couple started dating, Jordan became pregnant.

James’ previous relationship drama has been well-documented. But the controversial DJ swears he’s changed his ways.

It’s been a huge week for Elon Musk.

His biggest accomplishment may be that SpaceX, his rocket company, is going public — inflating its estimated valuation to thirteen digits.

The world’s richest man is set to become the world’s first trillionaire. And some of that money might be yours.

This could make a lot of money for a few people

Friday, June 12, is the day that SpaceX went public, selling 555 million shares at $135 each.

The plan is to raise around $75 billion, elevating the company’s total estimated value to $1.77 trillion.

This is both the largest I.P.O. in history and a huge risk for investors.

The New York Times warns that analysts have argued that SpaceX is “significantly overvalued.”

SpaceX is not a profitable company. It is reliant upon government contracts and lost billions last year.

Still, many investors operate on FOMO.

For other examples, look no further than investments in LLM (“AI”) companies over the past couple of years.

These are slop projects that don’t generate profit and a bubble that is doomed to burst (sooner rather than later, please), but investors hope to squeeze as much profit out as possible — and are gambling that they’ll cut and run sooner than others when the only tech scam more annoying than NFTs finally collapses.

Say what you will about SpaceX, but while it doesn’t generate a profit, it does at least offer a product or service: rockets.

Should governments be contracting space flight to private companies instead of funding our own rockets and shuttles? Of course not. But rockets are a real product that do a measurable amount of good despite their environmental impact. That counts for something, right?

Experts warn that a lot of everyday investors are unprotected and could lose a lost

Investors are one thing. What about everyday people who neither like nor trust Musk or his products?

Well, if you have certain investment portfolios, like a 401(k), you might be out of luck.

See, normally, a company that’s just gone public doesn’t get included in the nation’s top stock indexes.

However, SpaceX got fast-tracked, by their own request. That’s a little odd, especially for a company that loses billions annually.

People with investments in index fund behemoths like Fidelity and Vanguard may end up accidentally enriching Musk without their knowledge or approval. And carrying significant risk in the process.

Musk’s DOGE cuts as part of the Trump regime’s early months are already responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths. One of the many victims was funding for screwworm monitoring, which works to avoid exactly the problem that has now cropped up in two US states (and counting).

That, on top of so much else, has many people clamoring for Musk to be tried at the Hague.

It’s a lovely sentiment, but a little dramatic. The United States (not to mention N. Ireland and elsewhere) has plenty of courts that will do just as well.

The good news is that Musk becoming a trillionaire is mostly a matter of valuation. People estimate that his products have some sort of value, inflated how much they guess that he’s worth, in theory. These numbers can plummet.

The even better news is that no amount of wealth actually makes someone immune to prosecution and other legal actions.

On Tuesday, 19-year-old Karmelo Anthony was found guilty of murdering 17-year-old Austin Metcalf during a 2025 altercation at a high school track meet.

The news sparked tense debate across social media, as Anthony, who is Black, was sentenced to 35 years after being convicted by a jury with no Black jurors.

Now, Congressman Randy Fine is stoking the flames of controversy by insisting that Anthony deserved an even harsher sentence.

“Karmelo Anthony deserves the death penalty,” the Florida congressman tweeted this week, adding:

“Anything less is unacceptable.”

Now, Anthony is a teen who committed a non-premeditated murder during a heated confrontation, all of which would make him a highly unlikely candidate for the death penalty.

But Fine doubled down on his remarks when TMZ caught up with him earlier this week.

“What he did to that kid was horrible, and I think it’s important to tell our country that we’re not going to allow that kind of behavior,” Fine told the outlet.

“Part of the reason to send a message that strong is because of all the people who didn’t think he should be punished at all.

When the TMZ journalist pointed out that Anthony could have received a lesser manslaughter conviction (and we don’t typically execute teens to make a political point in this country), Fine stood his ground.

“I think we need to send a message about behaviors we’ll put up with and behaviors that we won’t,” he said.

The Texas jury rejected Anthony’s self-defense claim, and he was eventually sentenced to 35 years in prison.

Fine was quick to express support for a harsher punishment after the verdict was revealed, maintaining that Anthony deserved the death penalty despite the fact that Texas law prohibited such a sentence because of Anthony’s age at the time of the crime.

His remarks immediately generated backlash from critics who accused him of politicizing a tragedy and inflaming tensions surrounding an already divisive case.

Others, however, applauded Fine for taking a hardline stance in support of the Metcalf family.

Prosecutors argued that Anthony escalated a dispute and fatally stabbed Metcalf, while defense attorneys maintained that Anthony feared for his safety and acted in self-defense. Jurors ultimately sided with the prosecution and returned a guilty verdict.

Even after the conviction, the case has remained a lightning rod for political commentary, with public figures, activists, and elected officials continuing to debate everything from the sentence itself to the broader issues of race, justice, and accountability raised during the trial.

Fine’s latest comments ensured that those debates aren’t ending anytime soon.

Even though Brandi Glanville discovered the cause of her facial issues, her health battle isn’t over.

For one thing, she’s having symptoms again.

But Brandi has also revealed that she has ringworm in her throat.

She says that she contracted the infection sexually — from dating a porn star.

‘I feel like I have it … in my throat’

During her most recent Unfiltered podcast episode, Brandi abruptly shared some troubling news.

“I have a quick question,” she said. “Have you heard about sexually transmitted ringworm?”

What?

Brandi confessed: “I feel like I have it … in my throat.”

Though she did not name the man she suspects of giving her this infection, she did delve into some details.

According to Brandi, she was dating an adult film star — one who was, perhaps, a little naive.

“He would only, you know, my face because he didn’t want to get me pregnant,” Brandi explained.

Notably, pulling out is not a reliable form of birth control, even if perfectly executed every time. Thankfully, with Brandi, it’s moot.

“He didn’t know that ship had sailed,” Brandi revealed.

She joked: “I’m like, ‘Okay, whatever, I’m not going to correct you.’”

Okay so back to the ringworm …

According to Brandi, ringworm can go undetected among STIs because “It’s one of these things that most people don’t know what to look for.”

Unlike things like Texas’ new screwworm infestation (the first in over half a century after DOGE cut funding to the program that helped keep it at bay), ringworm is not actually a worm.

Rather, ringworm is a fungal infection of the hair, skin, or nails.

And, yes, ringworm can spread via skin-to-skin contact, including during sex.

“If it’s in your throat, they can burrow deep into your ears and all that,” Brandi characterized dramatically.

According to Brandi, ringworm can be “severe and difficult to treat.”

It’s not entirely clear if she received a diagnosis. If she did, we hope that she tells the sex worker whom she was dating. He and his professional and private partners have a right to know.

Meanwhile, Brandi has also been battling a resurgence of her “melting” face.

It’s also only been two months since she went to urgent care to get a clove of garlic — a home cure that she believed would help combat a cold — removed from her ear.

Brandi’s not having the best luck with health stuff right now. We hope that she chooses caution from here on out.

The tragic kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie happened over four months ago.

This senseless crime has spawned unhinged conspiracy theories and led to an unprofessional blame game among agencies.

A haunting anonymous tip may have put rescuers on the right track.

Is Nancy in an unmarked grave at this location? Someone is.

The anonymous tip comes after well over 100 days since she was kidnapped

Buscando Corazones Nogales is a Mexican volunteer group that searches for missing people in, as the name would suggest, Nogales, Mexico.

(Nogales shares a border with Arizona, to the point that there is also a Nogales on the American side.)

This week, they received a grim tip about an unmarked grave.

The group mobilized, rushing to a remote area near the national border in an effort to find her possible remains.

Their search had the support of the Sonora State Commission for the Search of Missing Persons.

As January faded into February, an unknown individual abducted Nancy from her home in Tuscon, Arizona.

It was a violent abduction. Small traces of Nancy’s blood were found at the scene.

We do not know where the 84-year-old was then transported against her will.

There were immediate fears about her well-being, including because she did not have her medication.

Her home is located approximately 70 miles from the border. More than once, it has been suggested that a kidnapper may have opted to cross the border in order to thwart investigators.

They found unmarked graves, but no sign of her (yet)

When Buscando Corazones Nogales searched the area indicated by the anonymous tip, they did find unmarked graves.

Plural.

The group found 25 unmarked graves on the site.

However, there was no sign of Nancy.

The group contacted Mexican authorities. However, those authorities in turn apparently did not contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department with any updates.

The group plans to return in the hopes of locating Nancy — or, at the very least, other unmarked graves.

It is possible that she could be found eventually, even if fresher graves would presumably be easier to find for searchers.

However, we have to acknowledge that it’s possible that she was never there.

Maybe the anonymous tip came from someone who believed her to be among the dead there.

It is also possible that someone hoped that the site would be found, and cynically calculated that naming a famous missing person might get it urgent attention. If so, they were right.

Our thoughts continue to go out to Savannah and the entire Guthrie family as this painful period of their lives continues.
