It’s official (kind of)!
After months of rumors and speculation, it now seems almost certain that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will exchange vows at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden.
Yes, the permits have been filed, and the streets will be blocked off as MSG prepares to host the wedding of the year on Fourth of July weekend.
The news has been met with giddy excitement from Swifties.
Of course, Taylor could announce that her next album will be a cover-to-cover reading of a 1991 phone book from Des Moines, Iowa and Swifties would react with giddy excitement.
The reaction from the rest of the world might best be described as one of utter bafflement.
After all, Madison Square Garden is not typically a wedding venue, and getting married in Midtown Manhattan on one of the biggest tourism weekends of the year sounds like a logistical nightmare.
Many have expressed that it’s difficult for them to even imagine a wedding in Madison Square Garden.
Permits viewed by the New York Times indicate that Taylor and Travis are expecting between 500 and 599 guests.
So who will fill those rows and rows of empty stands? Cardboard cutout seat fillers, a la live sporting events during the Covid era?
The situation has sparked some interesting conversations, including one that’s currently taking place in the comments section of a Celebitchy article about the wedding:
“Is she filming this or something? Either way, this sounds tacky as hell. I’ll be looking out for which famous people did not show up for this spectacle,” one reader wrote.
“I just don’t get it. I figured she’d gather her guests and fly them to some remote fancy resort she bought out in its entirety for the weekend. Very interested to see how this turns out. Because it all seems so odd,” another chimed.
Others are reading deeply into the choice of venue and concluding that the whole situation speaks volumes about Taylor’s character:
“She is a person that will shut down streets over a holiday weekend in midtown for her wedding. Think about that,” wrote one commenter, who went on to compare Taylor’s nuptials to Dua Lipa’s recent wedding:
“She saw Dua shut down a town square in Italy (and gave residents 1000 Euro each) and said hold my beer.”
This confirms how I’ve always felt and my suspicions about this relationship. She’s always trying to prove that her love for this man is genuine and vast,” another commented, adding:
“But it always feels empty and superficial. No one can convince me that this marriage will last more than two years. This whole thing is just over the top and tacky. Who is this spectacle really for?”
It’s possible that Travis and Taylor’s ceremony will take place elsewhere, and MSG will merely host the reception. Or vice versa!
Maybe Taylor has some big-name acts lined up to provide the music, and she’s a fan of the venue’s acoustics. Maybe she just really enjoyed watching the Knicks come back against the Spurs in the NBA Finals, and she was inspired to get married on the court!

There have been a lot of important but ultimately non-productive conversations about Ariana Grande’s body recently.

Ariana accidentally posted her own wardrobe malfunction — not a slip but full-on nudity, whoops!
She had a sense of humor about it, posting a throwback featuring longtime friend Liz Gillies as a tongue-in-cheek reference to the slip.

On Tuesday, June 23, Ariana unwittingly shared a wardrobe malfunction to her Instagram Story.
The now-deleted photo, which you can view below, showed her crouching down to pet a dog.
Ariana’s red and white gingham dress fell forward in the process, which accidentally exposed her left breast.
This was not mere unintended cleavage or sideboob, but actual nudity. Top-only, but still.
It was an accident. It does not appear that Ariana intended to #FreeTheNipple. She was just petting a great dog.

Her Story post did not go unnoticed.
As Ari’s stans and her lustful admirers and others still circulated the image, it got back to the actress and singer.
In response, she posted a tongue-in-cheek reference to the exposure — a throwback clip of her with Victorious co-star and longtime friend Liz Gillies. (They appeared together on Broadway before Nickelodeon, fyi.)

‘They’re really beautiful’
Showgirls is a 1995 erotic thriller (remember before prudes were running almost everything, when films could be erotic?) and a cult classic.
Ariana and Liz dressed as Nomi Malone and Cristal Connors for Halloween 2023.
“You have great t-ts. They’re really beautiful,” Liz praised, reciting part of the scene.
Ariana replied with a nonchalant: “Thank you.”
Simply put, she’s laughing off the accidental whole-boob-slip because, really, what else can you do?

Unfortunately, it is impossible to ethically discuss Ariana, and particularly her body, without touching upon the malnourished elephant in the room.
Ari appears to be wasting away. She does not merely look slender or small (though she is, and always has been, both), but genuinely gaunt.
In 2020, some advocates predicted that the ultra-thin aesthetics of the aughts would return. They have been proven correct, with disordered eating and the medicalized starvation of GLP-1s coming back in a big way.
Now, commenting under her posts is unlikely to “snap her out” of her current crisis. Harassing someone who is ill does not make them better. At best, it makes them annoyed.
We continue to hope for the very best for Ariana. She is a treasure and she deserves to be healthy and safe.

Country singer Bailey Zimmerman is in some legal trouble.
He’s accused of a series of tantrums culminating in trashing the room of a resort, to the tune of thousands of dollars.
He allegedly burned members of his own band — on purpose.
Facing legal charges and allegations of unpaid debts, he found himself in hot water. What happened?
The affidavit shows a clear downward spiral of bad behavior
Fox News obtained a police affidavit that chronicles what appears to be a spiral of bad behavior on the part of Zimmerman.
At the Sandia Resort and Casino in Albuquerque, the country singer began his day by playing a round of golf. Arguably a red flag, but nothing criminal — yet.
Things escalated quickly in the early afternoon, as the affidavit describes that “Mr. Zimmerman was intentionally burning other members of the band with the cigarette” at around 3 PM that afternoon.
For what it’s worth, the other band members did not appear to mind, according to the report.
Soon after, the report details: “Sandia security advised that Mr. Zimmerman appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and was very angry with his band and manager.”
After soundcheck, as it was nearing 5 PM, Zimmerman allegedly “threw a water bottle behind him down the stairs. He drank from another bottle and then spit toward a Sandia security officer standing nearby.”
That’s appalling. It doesn’t end there.
“Mr. Zimmerman complained about having a white SUV instead of a black SUV and initially refused to get in,” the affidavit reports. “He eventually entered the white SUV.”
Toddler behavior makes sense from toddlers. It does not from adults.
Back at the hotel, Zimmerman allegedly stumbled out of the SUV, attempted to enter through the wrong door, and even lost a shoe as his companions tried to help him inside.
The story only gets worse
Inside, Zimmerman allegedly had blood visible on one knee while staggering through the hotel.
The affidavit reports him as almost collapsing onto the floor multiple times during the effort to return to his suite.
As a result of all of this, he went on to cancel his concert, claiming that he had “not been feeling well.” Which sounds pretty true!
But, when he canceled the concert, the resort staff had had enough. They gave him a deadline to leave.
“He refused to leave in the vehicles provided by Sandia to transport him to the airport,” the affidavit reads. “Mr. Zimmerman became disorderly, and Sandia Police were contacted.” Eventually, he left — escorted off by police.
However, Sandia Police soon returned to the hotel to assess a litany of damages that staff found in Zimmerman’s hotel room.
A damaged television, a broken phone, a damaged coffee table, two chairs damaged, two chairs missing, damage to multiple walls — all of this tallied up by workers and police.
The total estimated damages are around $16,000.
On top of that, Zimmerman reportedly charged $400 in alcohol to the room, but skipped out on paying.
He’s facing a felony charge of criminal damage to property and a misdemeanor charge of falsely obtaining services. A judge issued a warrant for his arrest, including a “no bond hold.”
Among other things, he had to pay full restitution
Zimmerman has issued a public apology through his attorney, saying that he’s taking the case seriously.
Yeah, he’d have to.
All charges have since been dismissed.
Among other things, he reportedly paid full restitution to the resort in order to make the charges go away.
Ultimately, it’s likely that the resort simply wanted him to pay for the damages.
But, on a broader societal level, this does feel like anything’s legal if you have the money to “make it right” later.

Earlier this month, Karmelo Anthony was convicted of murder in connection with the death of fellow Texas teen Austin Metcalf.
The verdict was a controversial one, with defenders of Anthony — who is Black — claiming that he was the victim of a racist criminal justice system.
Now, a disturbing new social media trend seems to show users venting their frustration by mocking Metcalf’s death.
As TMZ reports, TikTok creators have been posting videos in which they dance to a rap song called “Austin Bop.”
The dance seems to consist of a stabbing motion, and according to one news report, the song used includes lyrics “about Metcalf’s death.”
The TMZ report confirms that the song used in the video “includes lyrics referencing the stabbing and Metcalf’s death.
The outlet reports that there is a second version of the song that “takes aim at Austin’s twin brother, Hunter Metcalf, who was with him in the aftermath of the attack.”
The trend has left the social media world sharply divided, with many attacking it as monstrously cruel and others defending it on the grounds of free speech rights.
“If y’all can laugh about calling Michelle Obama a man, we can laugh about this,” one user commented on a video exploring the trend.
Others insisted that this is a case of the media attempting to create controversy for clicks:
“It has nothing to do with Austin,” wrote one commenter.
Anthony has been sentenced to 35 years in prison in connection with Metcalf’s stabbing death.
Meanwhile, the victim’s father, Jeff Metcalf, has created a social media controversy of his own with a video in which he bashed the entire Anthony family, at one point referring to Anthony as a “watermelon felon.”
The racist video rightly sparked outrage, but the Metcalf family still has a large group of supporters, including Rep. Randy Fine, who has called for the death penalty for Anthony.
The Metcalf family has not responded to reports about the TikTok trend allegedly inspired by their son’s death.

Doubling Down With The Derricos was a TLC reality series, starring a couple who shared fourteen children.
When the titular Derricos divorced, the series ended.
Now, Karen Derrico has been arrested on charges that she threaten ex-husband Deon with violence and murder.
Allegedly, she even threatened to kill any of the children who sided with him.

Former Doubling Down With The Derricos star Karen has been arrested, Oxygen reports.
She stands accused of threatening to kill her ex-husband, Deon Derrico.
Additionally, Karen allegedly threatened to do the same to any of the children who might side with him. Yikes.
The exes finalized their divorce in June 2024, just under 20 years since they married. They share legal and physical custody of their minor children (having welcomed 14 total).
At first, they continued to live together out of convenience. However, it’s reported that Karen moved out earlier this year — with things getting worse every since.
Karen is charged with violating a temporary order for protection against domestic violence on June 17.
Allegedly, she did this by “sending emails unrelated to parenting matters” to Deon. This violates an order from family court, one that dates back to April.
Karen is accused of “willfully, unlawfully, and knowingly” threatening to cause bodily injury to Deon.
This email reportedly caused him to possess “reasonable fear that the threat will be carried out.”
She also allegedly attempted to interfere with him attending court, by way of further violent threats.
‘I’ll kill any of my kids if they take your side’
“I want you dead,” the alleged email read, according to the criminal complaint. ”I could kill you and it won’t even bother me to go to jail and I’ll kill any of my kids if they take your side.”
On May 2, she allegedly wrote “telling him to watch out, that she is getting a gun and/or will have someone kill him before he can go to court.”
Allegedly, Karen wrote in an email that “killing him would be easy.”
Another sentence allegedly threatened that she “will see to it that he dies a slow death.”
Those are some serious threats. But did Karen actually write them?
It is important for us to emphasize that Karen has pleaded not guilty.
She says that she would never threaten to harm her children.
Her attorney, Jess Marchese, told TMZ that they believe that Deon wrote the emails to himself in order to frame her.
The defense says that they were working with tech experts to prove it.
Karen is out on $2,000 bond and wearing an ankle monitor. We hope that investigators can get to the bottom of this matter.
