Big Picture: How ‘Elite Ballplayer’ Milton Williams Quickly Guided Patriots to Super Bowl

Empower Field at Mile High (Denver) — For nearly two decades, the Patriots knew all too well the annual ritual of NFL teams in pursuit of a Super Bowl writing big checks to poach key players from the defending champs in free agency. This time, it was the Patriots trying to import a championship culture to their locker room. Last March, after the Eagles had won the Super Bowl, New England gave defensive tackle Milton Williams the largest contract in franchise history — four years, $104 million — hoping he could help get their defensive front back to an elite level. And Sunday in the AFC Championship Game against the Broncos, as the Patriots trailed 7-0 in the second quarter, Denver went for it on fourth-and-1 at the New England 14, hoping to set up a two-score lead. But Williams broke through unblocked and pressured quarterback Jarrett Stidham into an incompletion and a turnover on downs. The Broncos would not score again, as the Patriots rode their defense to a 10-7 win and a trip to California in two weeks. “We’re going back to the Bowl,” Williams said from his locker as he celebrated the Patriots’ first playoff win in Denver in five tries. And it means something different for him, in his third Super Bowl in four years, than for the Patriots, going to their 12th but first since 2019. Williams has shown a penchant for playing his best football in the postseason — he had only 11.5 sacks in four years with the Eagles, but came up with two (and a forced fumble and recovery) against the Chiefs in last year’s Super Bowl. In New England, he had 3.5 sacks in the regular season, missing five games with injury, but came through with two sacks in the wild-card win over the Chargers, and his impact Sunday against the Broncos showed up beyond the stat sheet as well. “There’s a consistency there. He’s a tireless worker,” Patriots coach Mike Vrabel told reporters of Williams’ impact earlier this week. “He worked hard. He was here in the offseason. I think that makes a difference. And then, obviously, just the disruption. I know everybody that rushes the passer, they strive for sacks, and certainly, our ability to affect the quarterback goes well beyond the sack numbers. You can get a sack. I mean, Gonzo [Christian Gonzalez] got a sack. The quarterback ran out of bounds. And so, if you just look at that, it can be somewhat misleading. But he certainly has brought some disruption … I think he has improved some of his technique in the run game and things that we’ve talked about. He’s consciously tried to work on that, and I appreciate that.” NFL teams are often reluctant to give their biggest contracts to outside players, wanting to reward their own best players first and foremost. But Vrabel said his research showed him what kind of person Williams was as much as what kind of player, so he was confident a huge NFL payday wouldn’t change his motivation to be among the league’s best players. “Having done a lot of work with him coming out and just knowing who he is as a person, but all his family,” Vrabel said. “I think his parents have been fantastic raising him and his sisters. When you have good bones, you can survive a lot. So, for a young player to come into a lot of money like that, it is important that they remain grounded, they remain hungry and want to continue to work. And I know that his parents and his family have a lot to do with that.” Championship teams can’t keep all their best players, and the Eagles took a step back after losing players like Williams and edge rusher Josh Sweat, who had a career-best 12 sacks in his first year with the Cardinals. Philadelphia knew it had two young defensive tackles back in Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis, and Moro Ojomo stepped up nicely into Williams’ role with six sacks in a breakout season. Williams did not go to New England expecting a return trip to the Super Bowl. The Patriots had finished 4-13 in each of the last two seasons, firing head coaches after each, and while there was optimism in improving under Vrabel, few expected this dramatic a turnaround in his first season. Williams said he first realized the Patriots could be special in Week 5, when they went to Buffalo and beat the Bills 23-20 on a field goal with 15 seconds left. “Young team, new pieces everywhere, and Buffalo was on a home win streak, I don’t know how many games they’d won, but they hadn’t lost in two seasons or something like that,” Williams said. “We didn’t care [anything] about that. We went in there and did what we were supposed to do, ended up getting the win. I said it after the game: We put it on display what kind of team we can be. We’ve got to be able to do it every week. I feel like we’ve been doing that all season.” Williams’ impact can be seen even when he doesn’t touch the quarterback. The fourth-down stop on Sunday was one of eight pressures for him. Next Gen Stats tracks “quick pressures” applied in the first 2.5 seconds after the snap, and Williams has six in the postseason — only once has a player had more in a single playoff run, and that was the Rams’ Aaron Donald in 2021. “Elite ballplayer,” Pro Bowl corner Christian Gonzalez told reporters this week. “He changes the game. The front seven, the front four, they do so many good things, working together, playing off each other. Milt, he’s a leader. I feel like he’s a little kind of more like me. We’re not too outspoken. We’re not going to be the ones to gather the huddle up and give a motivational speech, but he’s always doing the right things, always leading by example.” Like much of the Patriots’ defense, Williams has played this postseason with a chip on his shoulder, tired of hearing about other teams and other defenses, even as New England has held three playoff opponents to a combined 26 points. The Patriots’ defensive front has understood their role, whether the national media or the public was aware of it. “It’s going to be on us,” Williams said. “Every week. Hearing as much talk about the [Broncos] offensive line, what they can do and what we can’t do and all this. No, it was on us to go out there and dominate up front, to try to get Stidham off his spot. We did that.” As much as the Patriots are known for a dynastic run of nine Super Bowls and six championships under Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, very few of the current players know the feeling of playing in a Super Bowl. Cornerback Carlton Davis won a Super Bowl with the Bucs in 2021, and receiver Mack Hollins was a backup with the Eagles in 2018 when they beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl. Tight end Austin Hooper was on the field when the Patriots won a Super Bowl in 2017, but saw it from the other side, as a member of the Falcons team that lost a 28-3 lead. In the next two weeks, Williams can share with them what the sport’s biggest game is like, how it feels to win and to lose and what they can expect against the Seahawks with a chance to add to the franchise’s championship legacy. “He’s one of the only ones that’s been in this position on our team, so we’ve been able to talk to him about how the games feel,” Gonzalez said. “I think it’s pretty cool he gets to go back-to-back. It’s been dope.” In the Big Picture, we contextualize key moves and moments so you can instantly understand why they matter.Latest Sports News from FOX Sports

Bryan Kohberger Posed Victims’ Bodies Following Brutal Murders: Report

Reading Time: 3 minutes

We have disturbing new details regarding the 2022 murder of four Idaho college students.

As we previously reported, Bryan Kohberger confessed to the murders and will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

But because his plea deal eliminated the need for a trial, many details of this tragedy — including Kohberger’s motives — remain unknown.

Details continue to trickle in as police release new findings, and the latest has to do with Kohberger’s behavior after the murders.

Bryan Kohberger, charged in the murders of four University of Idaho students in 2022, appears for a hearing at the Ada County Courthouse on July 2, 2025, in Boise, Idaho.

Newly released documents indicate that Kohberger may have two of the victims — Kaylee Goncalves and Madison Mogen, both 21 — after stabbing them to death in the bed they shared.

(Goncalves had moved out of the house but was visiting for the weekend.)

“The evidence suggests that after both victims were killed or unresponsive they were posed in their shared bed,” crime scene expert Dr. Brent Turvey wrote in newly unsealed documents obtained by People.

“Kaylee was moved from a position with her head on her pillow to partially atop of Madison. Then the comforter was placed over them both.”

Turvey’s findings stem largely from blood stains that indicate that the victims had relocated after their deaths.

He also found that neither Goncalves nor Mogen was “upright or moving” when they died, indicating that they may have been killed in their sleep.

Police noted that Turvey’s theory about the relocated bodies was “a possibility, but not a determination.”

Indeed, his is just one of many theories regarding how the night might have unfolded.

Former FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer has emerged as one of the foremost experts on the case, and she now believes Kohberger entered the house that night with the intention of raping Maddie Mogen.

According to Coffindaffer, Kaylee in some way prevented the sexual assault from taking place, which may have been why Kohberger’s treatment of her was especially brutal.

“Kaylee ruined his plans on how the night would go, that’s why her face was completely disfigured,” Coffindaffer explained.

In a previous interview, Coffindaffer described Kohberger as an “incel” whose violent tendencies were a product of his sexual frustrations.

“I’m convinced that he was what I term as an ‘incel’ — an individual who is involuntarily celibate because they cannot attract the persons that they hope to attract,” she told the Mirror.

“Inside of them is a certain maniacal anger.”

The fact is, we might never know what motivated Kohberger to take four innocent lives that night.

But hopefully the victims’ families can find some comfort in the fact that he’ll never be able to commit such a horrific act again.

Sarah Shadi: I Wrote NSFW Book Chapters ‘To Heal Myself’

Reading Time: 4 minutes

Sex education can come at many times in life, and from many sources.

For The L Word and Sex/Life actress Sarah Shahi, knowledge about her own body and about sex came later than average.

And for some of her fans, education will come in the form of the NSFW chapters of her book.

From one’s own pleasure to navigating a partner’s dong, it’s all in there. And writing it was healing for her.

Why write such a ‘spicy’ book in such a sex-negative time?

In her new book, Shahi is being more than blunt about sexual education.

She didn’t always intend to delve into this tragically polarizing topic.

Speaking to US Weekly about Life is Lifey, she revealed that starring in Sex/Life is what prompted her to take an interest in the topic.

Why? Because viewers did. Fans reached out to her.

Many of these fans were women — women who’d never experienced an orgasm in their lives.

“Personally, I was never promiscuous,” Shahi admitted.

(There is no shame in that! Zero partners, ten thousand partners, or anywhere in between, and you’re good so long as you’re doing whatever you like. Beyond 10k and you get to live forever in the fae realm, we think)

“I didn’t learn about anatomy until later on in my life,” she revealed.

“And men,” Shahi added. It sounds like she didn’t have a firm, adult grasp of her own body — let alone others — until a later-than-average time.

She continued: “And that was something that did feel very intimidating to me.”

‘Pleasure is a birthright’ (louder for the people in the back!)

“After Sex/ Life, it just kind of came back full circle to me,” Shahi characterized.

“This is human nature,” she emphasized.

Adding a line that we would proclaim from the rooftops, she expressed: “And pleasure is a birthright.”

And when it comes to heterosexual intercourse, she had a big takeaway for the role of women.

“We’re not here to simply service,” Shahi affirmed, “but we’re here to be serviced as well.” (Did you hear that, DJ Khaled?)

“There were so many aspects of women when it came to their physicality and their body and their desire that they had ignored for so long,” Shahi lamented.

Her sex tips went both ways — on how to experience pleasure as a cis woman but also how to please a partner.

“The chapters where I talk about orgasms and blowjobs was something I questioned,” she admitted.

Shah shared that she was hesitant at first “because I thought it would be looked upon poorly.”

However, she added: “But the minute I’m afraid to do something, that’s a signal to go ahead.”

She wrote this book ‘to heal’ herself

“I really hope that people have the courage to live their lives as truthfully as they can,” Shahi expressed. “That’s literally what I want.”

She reiterated: “I really want people to have the guts to live authentically and to not worry about what people think.”

Shahi got personal, sharing: “I wrote this book to heal myself. I never expected it to make the splash that it’s making.”

She continued: “But my point in writing it is, there was so much lightness that came from me finally doing me that I would love for other people to experience that same kind of feeling.”

It is wonderful that she had this experience of learning and growing into her sexuality. Better late than never!

Jon Gosselin: I Nearly Died Last Year!!!

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Jon Gosselin is lucky to be alive.

The former reality star and DJ said this week that — just before his November 2025 wedding to Stephanie Lebo — he received a diagnosis of bilateral pulmonary embolisms… which is when a blood clot breaks loose and travels to the lung.

In John’s case, he had one on each side of his body. Yikes.

Jon Gosselin attends WE tv celebrates the return of "Love After Lockup" with panel, "Real Love: Relationship Reality TV's Past, Present & Future," at The Paley Center for Media on December 11, 2018 in Beverly Hills, California.

The father of eight made the confession to the Daily Mail while DJ’ing at a Sundance Film Festival over this past weekend.

The frightening ordeal started when Gosselin began feeling a “grueling pain” in his leg that then spread to his upper shoulder about 24 hours later.

After he coughed up “what looked like silly putty” in the midst of a “coughing fit” the following night, Jon knew something was wrong.

“Stephanie was scared to death,” Gosselin told the aforementioned outlet, adding that his 21-year-old kids Hannah and Collin “freaked out” over the news.

(Instagram)

Gosselin went to the hospital and underwent an MRI and it was then that doctors discovered he had two bilateral pulmonary embolisms.

(A pulmonary embolism “occurs when a blood clot gets stuck in an artery in the lung, blocking blood flow to part of the lung,” according to the Mayo Clinic. A bilateral pulmonary embolism occurs when a blood clot blocks arteries in both lungs simultaneously.)

Thankfully, this particular condition was able to be managed through medications, including heart meds, blood pressure meds, aspirin and Eliquis.

“I definitely could have died,” Gosselin said to The Daily Mail. “If I had just stayed home that night, I could have had a real pulmonary embolism and just died.”

Following his brush with death, Gosselin made a full recovery and was able to exchange vow with Lebo at The Barn at Silverstone in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

The two kids Jon lives with and actually speaks with, Hannah and Collin, were in attendance … along with Lebo’s daughter, Juliana.

“Before I met you, I never knew what it was like to be able to look at someone and smile for no reason,” Jon told Lebo in his vows, per Entertainment Tonight.

“I feel like the luckiest man in the world, because I get to grow old with my best friend and the love of my life.

Brett Young Explains the Vision Behind His Steamy Morgan Wallen Shower Cover

Earlier this month, Brett Young posted a steamy video of him singing a cover of Morgan Wallen’s “Just In Case.” And while fans made it known that they were big fans of the video, Young now admits that the vision he had for the video didn’t quite resonate as he hoped.

In the center of the clip, Young rocks messy, wet hair and sprays his chest with the shower head while singing the fan-favorite track. Around him, his band members appear in their own squares, performing their instruments from home and coming together to create a creative video.

Speaking with Cody Alan on SiriusXM’s The Highway, the country star explained that the whole reason behind recording this track was to promote his 2026 2.0 Tour and give fans a sneak peek into the songs featured on the set list. He says he originally tried to mimic an iconic scene from the classic film, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, however the country star now sees that “not one person” got the reference.

“It was a little bit of a miss…You know the famous scene where he’s doing the, “I could be the walrus”? My hair was too short for the mohawk to stay up there. But at the time, the guys had already all filmed their kind of silly videos out on Christmas break and stuff. And I had already filmed it, realized it didn’t really land,” he admitted. “But it was all we had, and I wanted that to be out before the tour because it was going to be in the set. And I just went, ‘It’s still silly.’”

Even if it didn’t land perfectly, Young succeeded in having a bit of lighthearted fun with the promotional moment.

“I was just trying to be silly. We missed a little bit, but at least the song’s out in the world now.”

And it’s safe to say that fans were not mad about the fact that it turned out steamier than originally intended.

Users commented things like “Mercy on my eyes….😍😍” and “Wasn’t expecting this but definitely here for it 😉”

Others wondered how he was able to film from inside the shower. Young says he saw some comments theorizing that his wife Taylor got to be the videographer, but it turns out he didn’t have any help at all.

“There were a lot of comments about, somebody would say something about, like, ‘I wonder what his wife thinks about this.’ And then somebody would comment under it, ‘Who do you think was filming it?’ It was definitely just a phone,” he revealed. “Just on the shower door. And I just, I just kept starting the song over and filmed it like four times straight through and then sent it to my video guy, who, you know, tried to make it not look as amateur as it probably was.”

The moment offered a glimpse into the playful energy and must-see performances that Young is bringing on the 2.0 Tour. When he finally revealed the entire tour setlist, fans saw that amongst his catalog of hits and career favorites was another cover – Justin Bieber’s “Yukon,” which Young has also been teasing on socials ahead of the run.

Named after his latest album, the trek launched at The Ryman in Nashville on January 22 and continues through Saturday, February 28, where he will wrap in Bensalem, PA.
