WATCH: Jessie James Decker Joins Jo Dee Messina For ‘Lesson in Leavin’’ Duet

Jessie James Decker recently hosted country music icon Jo Dee Messina at her home for her intimate “stair sessions” series, where the pair of artists traded acoustic harmonies on Messina’s hit “Lesson in Leavin’.”

The stripped-down moment gave fans a glimpse of the magic behind the beloved ‘90s country tune as both of the female singers effortlessly traded lines and let their vocals echo throughout the home. Together, they brought the classic country breakup story to life by leaning into the themes of empowerment and moving on from the pain of someone’s repeated mistakes.

Jessie James Decker, Jo Dee Messina

“Somebody’s gonna give you a lesson in leavin’/ Somebody’s gonna give you back what you’ve been givin’/ And I hope that I’m around/ To watch ’em knock you down/ It’s like you to love ’em and leave ’em/ Just like you loved me and left me/ It’s like you to do that sort of thing/ Over and over again/ You’re a fool-hearted man,” they sang on the opening lyrics.

Originally called “A Lesson in Leavin’,” the tune was written by Randy Goodrum and Brent Maher, and first recorded by Dottie West in 1979 for her Special Delivery album. Messina later retitled the song to “Lesson in Leavin’” and released it as a single in 1999 from her second album, I’m Alright. The track became a major hit, spending seven weeks at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.

Reflecting on the experience, Decker called it a “pinch-me moment.” She reminisced about being a longtime fan of Messina’s as she recalled driving to school as a child with the windows down, belting out her catalog of iconic tunes.

She wrote, “Brought me back to my childhood driving to school with the windows down in the truck singing her songs at the top of my lungs just thinking about how cool she must be (and she is, as cool and amazing as it gets)”

The “I Still Love You” singer added that she “never imagined” that she would get the chance to not only sing but also to simply spend the day hanging out with such a beloved and well-known member of the country music community.

“Love you Jo Dee!!!,” she concluded.

Messina matched her excitement and commented a kind message in response. “This was SOOOOOO fun !!! Thank you JJD for such a great day ❤️❤️”

The pair made use of their day together and filmed several videos for social media. Another teaser clip Decker posted found her standing at her door, and mouthing along to the trending audio that says, “Cause it’s iconic and I love to do iconic sh**,” in response to the question, “Why is there a country music icon at your house?” The sound then switches to include a snippet from another one of Messina’s iconic tracks, “Heads Carolina, Tails California” as she makes her way into Decker’s home with excitement written all over her face.

For Jessie James Decker, this day turned out to be a full-circle moment as she got to connect with one of her childhood idols, while Messina got to see the impact of her music on the next generation of country stars.

Country Hitmaker John Michael Montgomery Closes Out Touring Career With Emotional, Sold-Out Farewell in Kentucky

The curtain officially came down on John Michael Montgomery’s touring career Friday night with a sold-out, family-filled farewell concert in his home state of Kentucky. The emotional evening featured a lineup of special guests closely tied to Montgomery’s life and legacy, including son-in-law Travis Denning, who opened the show, followed by Walker Montgomery, John Michael’s son, and Montgomery Gentry, featuring his brother Eddie Montgomery.

Held at the iconic Rupp Arena in Lexington, the hometown celebration was packed with unforgettable moments and served as a fitting, heartfelt conclusion to John Michael Montgomery’s more than 30-year run on the road.

The country hitmaker kicked off the night with “Cowboy Love” and went on to deliver hit after hit from his legendary catalog, spanning from his very first No. 1 single, “I Love the Way You Love Me,” to the beloved “I Swear,” which prompted couples throughout the arena to slow dance near their seats. He also paid a touching tribute to the armed forces with “Letters From Home.”

Midway through the show, Montgomery sweetly dedicated “Home To You” to his wife, Crystal, telling her from the stage, “THank you honey for putting up with me for 30 years.”

The country music icon kept the evening mostly down to business, pausing briefly between songs to express his gratitude to fans and introduce the next hit. However, one of the most emotional moments of the night came when his son, Walker, who had performed earlier, returned to the stage.

“Hey Dad, you never left Kentucky… you never moved to Nashville… Kentucky has been your home for all of your life… so we are going to have a special surprise for you,” Walker shared.

Within moments, other family members joined him onstage as Rupp Arena General Manager Brian Sipe unveiled a permanent banner that will hang in the arena, commemorating John Michael Montgomery’s iconic career and The Road Home Tour: The Final Concert on 12/12/25 at Rupp.

“Well I certainly didn’t expect that tonight! As much as I have come here to watch the Cats play, and just absolutely loved seeing those banners, all of those decades and years of greatness hanging from the ceiling of this place, I don’t even have words… I cannot believe it, but I’ll tell you what… That’s the most special thing that’s happened to me in my career,” Montgomery shared, wiping away tears.

As fans sang along to hit after hit, the night served as a powerful reminder of John Michael Montgomery’s lasting impact on country music. Even at 60, his vocals sounded just as strong as ever – that man can still sing!

The show came to a close on a high note with the high-energy “Be My Baby Tonight,” followed by the iconic “Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident).”

Ahead of the show, we caught up with John Michael Montgomery to talk about the history-making night. The country icon admitted the moment arrived faster than he ever expected.

“It’s hard to believe it’s time. A couple years ago when I told everybody I was ready to get off the road from tour, it seemed like it was like two years away and it just went by too fast,” he admitted to Country Now. “But being able to do it right here, I didn’t realize at that time that my last show would be here in my favorite venue, first of all. So being able to finish up my touring career right here, where I’ve watched the Wildcats play, I’ve watched all kinds of great concerts and be able to get on stage and perform all my hits from the late 1900’s for all these folks. It is going to be a special night for me.”

Montgomery went on to admit he knew the evening would be an emotional one.

“I mean, it’s just kind of hard to believe it’s been 33 years since I was playing a nightclub right down the road from here for $5 a door charge to playing here and thinking it’s gone by that fast and where’d it go? All that stuff goes through your head. And of course, just turning 60 this year and everything, having a new grand baby and all that stuff, I’m getting off the road, but I ain’t slowing down any!”

Throughout his career, John Michael Montgomery amassed 36 hit singles, including seven No. 1 songs, and released 11 studio albums that have earned multi-platinum and gold RIAA certifications, solidifying his place as one of country music’s most enduring voices.

Luke Combs, Scotty McCreery & More Send Heartfelt Support to Tennessee Teen Paralyzed in Trampoline Accident

The Tennessee community, along with some of country music’s biggest stars, is showing overwhelming support for 16-year-old Maggie Isble, who suffered a life-changing injury at a trampoline park last month.

Maggie, who’s loved ones describe her as being “joyful, bright, and full of life” was enjoying a fun day with her siblings over Thanksgiving break when an attempt to backflip off a trapeze bar went tragically wrong.

“Mid-flip, she landed head first into the foam pit and went all the way through the foam and hit her head on the concrete and broke her neck,” Maggie’s older sister Destiny Isble tells WSMV

The accident left Maggie paralyzed from the chest down, unable to move her legs, feet, or hands. She was immediately taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and later transferred to a one of the best spinal rehabilitation facilities in the country, located in Atlanta.

Her family has shared her journey across social media, including a Facebook group called Miracle For Maggie. Here, friends, family and followers can see updates on Maggie’s slow but steady progress as she embarks on the long road to recovery.

Josh and Jenny Isble, the adoptive parents of Maggie and her three siblings, recently shared some extra special messages of hope and encouragement that were sent to their teen by country acts like Luke Combs, Scotty McCreery, and Dustin Lynch. These singer/songwriters reached out with heartfelt video messages in an effort to lift her spirits.

Combs made sure to celebrate the strides she has made so far and shared his gratitude for her being a fan. He even gave her something to look forward to when he invited her and her family out to a show to meet him one day in the future when she is able.

“Katy told me about the tough times that you’re going through right now following your accident, but she also told me that you’re making some progress. That’s great news. I’m happy to hear that. Also heard you’re a big fan. I really, really appreciate that and I just wanted to reach out and say, keep your head up. Stay strong,” he told her. “These things take time. But Katie also told me how strong you are and how amazing of a person you are and how amazing your family is. So you’ve got great people around you. You’ve got support. I believe in you. I would love to have you and your family out to a show sometime meet you in person when you’re feeling better and stay strong. You got this.”

Scotty McCreery also sent Maggie a personal video note to let her know he’s thinking of her during her recovery.

“Just wanted to say hello and that I’m thinking about you and praying for you in your recovery. You got this, and hopefully we get to meet sometime. Have a good one.”

With a big smile on his face, Lynch sent good thoughts Maggie’s way and spread a bit of holiday cheer.

“Just wanted to reach out and say hello. Send you a smile, a hug, and wish you a Merry Christmas. I’m decorating my tree. Hope to see you soon. Love you,” he said warmly.

According to Maggie’s doctor, she has sustained a C4B injury, meaning she has slight feeling, but little to no movement from the chest down. While her ultimate recovery is uncertain, progress is typically fastest in the first three months, with most people reaching about half their potential by six months. Some improvements can continue for years, making her future outcome difficult to predict but full of hope.

So far, it seems that her team of medical professionals and her family are very pleased with the progress she has made, especially since doctors initially warned Maggie’s family that she might never walk again. A few recent updates in the Facebook group this month revealed that she was able to move her thumb on her own and feel sensation in her feet.

The December 14 post read, “Today brought another small but meaningful moment—Maggie was able to move her feet a little. Sometimes it’s hard to tell if it’s purposeful movement or spasms, but we are choosing faith over fear. She also fed herself a few fries today. We had to put them in her hand but she got it to her mouth. We know God works through the small things, and we will praise Him for every single sign of progress. We believe in miracles, and we are trusting Jesus completely.”

Her aunt, Jessica Burton, also told News Channel 5 that Maggie is maintaining a “positive outlook” throughout this very difficult time in her life.

“We’re already seeing a miracle happen, so keep on praying because we do believe in the power of prayer,” Burton said. “We believe that because of Maggie’s personality and attitude that she’s going to shine through this and she’s going to help others through this.”

Before her accident, Maggie was living with Josh and Jenny Isble, who had opened their home to her and her siblings in November of 2014. Inspired by a sermon from their late pastor, the couple decided to sell most of their belongings in order to build a home large enough to keep siblings together, a dream rooted in Josh’s own experiences in foster care. Just before Thanksgiving, five-year-old Maggie and her siblings arrived and after four years in foster care, they were officially adopted, completing the Isble family of nine.

With Maggie now receiving treatment in Atlanta, her parents are forced to split their time between there and their home in order to continue caring for their five other children and one grandchild.

How To Help

Between the sudden cut in income, substantial travel, lodging, and medical expenses and the significant modifications that will now need to be made on their home for wheelchair accessibility, Maggie’s family is asking for donations through GoFundMe.

The collection titled “A Miracle for Maggie” was created on Nov. 26 and as of publication time, has raised more than $71,000 of the $75,000 goal. A new message from Jenny on the GoFundMe page offers sincere gratitude for everyone who has stepped up to help them through this journey.

“We are in absolute awe of the love, prayers and support poured out over our family. We are especially thankful for those who have shared their own miracle stories – they strengthen our faith and help us process this journey. Thank you for walking alongside us, praying boldly with us, and believing with us. We praise Jesus and trust Him fully. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

EXCLUSIVE: Lil Durk Shut Down As Judge Refuses To Disqualify Government Team

Lil Durk just took a major court loss after a federal judge rejected his attempt to remove the prosecutors handling his murder-for-hire case, shutting down his argument that the government’s leadership was unlawfully appointed and should be barred from overseeing his prosecution.

Durk’s request targeted Bilal A. Essayli, the First Assistant U.S. Attorney, who has been supervising the case. Durk claimed Essayli’s appointment as U.S. Attorney was improper and argued the issue was severe enough to dismiss the indictment entirely.

The judge disagreed.

In a new order, the court said Durk’s challenge failed for the same reasons courts in three other federal cases had already rejected nearly identical motions.

The filing shows the judge gave Durk a chance to explain why his situation should be treated differently, but Durk never submitted the required statement.

Because of that omission and because the other rulings were already final, the judge denied Durk’s motion outright and confirmed that Essayli “may continue to supervise Banks’ prosecution” without restriction.

The order makes clear that Durk’s indictment will not be dismissed and that nothing about the government’s leadership impedes the case from moving forward.

This loss lands while Durk is still trying to challenge prosecutors on other fronts.

He previously accused the government of hiding four threatening voicemails left for Magistrate Judge Patricia Donahue, messages referencing Durk and codefendant DeAndre Wilson by name.

The caller warned the judge to “do the right thing” while making violent statements and mimicking gunfire. Durk’s lawyers argued the threats should have triggered immediate disclosure and raised questions about neutrality.

Prosecutors countered that the calls were not severe enough to create bias, came from unknown outsiders, and did not require notifying the defense. They said the law treats such calls as attempts to influence the case, not grounds to disqualify anyone.

The court has now taken its strongest stance yet, making clear that the government’s leadership remains in place and that the prosecution remains intact.

Durk is facing charges tying him to an alleged murder-for-hire plot targeting Savannah rapper Quando Rondo.

Prosecutors say the plan grew out of the 2020 clash that left King Von dead and resulted in the killing of Lul Pab. That confrontation deepened a feud between the camps and forms the backdrop of the federal case now moving forward.

Lipstick Killer Uses Darkness to Showcase Her Growth and Emotional Intensity

On her latest release Darkness,” Lipstick Killer leans fully into her edge, offering a poetic, and at the same time an aggressive take on love gone wrong. The track arrives as the follow-up to her breakout moment Delaware Ave,” pushing her sound, her honesty, and her edge even further.

Hypnotic guitar lines slide over heavy, pulsing beats while Lipstick Killer balances venom and vulnerability with precision. It’s obsession, jealousy, rage, and survival colliding in real time.

At the surface, the verses are aggressive and unfiltered. Lines like “Tell that b****  I want to fight” and “I bite b****, you bark” reflect territorial rage and emotional defensiveness. This isn’t post-breakup sadness, but the chaos that happens while love is still alive but threatened.

However, beneath the venom that Lipstick Killer is portraying is tenderness. Moments like “You light up my life / Babe, you shine bright” and “I never met a n****  with your vibe” reveal devotion and admiration. That contrast is central to the song’s power. Lipstick Killer shows how love and rage can coexist, feeding off each other.

<iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/5_6k-6wgnQM?si=HHM5NOD-2ZQDJNbU” title=”YouTube video player” frameborder=”0″ allow=”accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share” referrerpolicy=”strict-origin-when-cross-origin” allowfullscreen></iframe>

That emotional truth is connecting with listeners. Since its release, “Darkness” has surpassed 150,000 views on YouTube, a milestone Lipstick Killer celebrated directly with her audience. “+150,000 views on YouTube?! Y’all really riding through the Darkness with me 🖤 Thank you for every stream, every share, every comment. We only going UP from here. 😈 she wrote.

“Darkness” has become a statement of Lipstick Killer’s growth.

Born in Pittsburgh and now based in New York, Lipstick Killer has been building toward this moment for years. She started writing and performing at just 12 years old, using music as her first form of rebellion. She walked away from college to pursue a label opportunity in Atlanta, and when it fell apart, she turned the disappointment into determination, establishing herself as a rising voice in the modern music scene.

That grind led her to front multiple bands, including Rebella Rising, a Kansas City favorite that opened for Ariana Grande and MKTO at the city’s Red, White & Boom Festival. Those moments onstage tightened her edge and focus and helped shape the explosive live performer she’s known as today.

As she puts it herself: “I’m not a poser — I’m a rockstar. I don’t follow trends. I create them. I’m the anti of everything that feels manufactured in today’s industry.”

HoneyKomb Brazy Grandparents’ Deaths Sparked Costly Cleanup For Property Owner

HoneyKomb Brazy became the center of a civic dispute and a criminal tragedy on Tuesday after the Mobile City Council voted to charge a property owner $2,200 for demolishing the charred remains of the home where his grandparents were killed during a 2021 drive-by shooting.

The house on Dr. Thomas Avenue in Mobile’s Happy Hill neighborhood was destroyed after gunmen opened fire and ignited a blaze that killed Tony and Leila Lewis.

The city says the property owner failed to properly clear the site, leaving behind the concrete slab and debris.

“That work involved, from the city’s perspective, the removal of the remaining slab and unburned debris from the property that the homeowner did not remove,” David Daughenbaugh, Mobile’s director of municipal enforcement, told Fox10. “And then it also included leveling the site, grading it, so it’s level and doesn’t hold water. And then also put some hay down with some grass seeds so you do not have erosion.”

The $2,200 bill covers both the physical labor and the administrative costs associated with the demolition and cleanup. The deadly shooting that led to the destruction of the home has since developed into a complex murder case.

Four men have been charged in connection with the attack, but only two, Terrance Santez Watkins and Patrick Vashun Lewis, have been served warrants. Prosecutors are pushing to try them together in court next month.

Testimony from a 2022 hearing revealed the motive behind the shooting was linked to a personal feud between Watkins and OMB Peezy. A detective testified that Watkins felt disrespected during a Facebook livestream and retaliated by targeting the grandparents of HoneyKomb Brazy, since he and Peezy are close.

HoneyKomb Brazy was recently released early from federal prison in October 2025 after serving nearly two years of a 30-month sentence for a gun possession charge stemming from a December 2023 traffic stop in Mobile County.

Roc Nation Accused Of Exploiting Bikini Models To Sell Megan Thee Stallion Swimwear

Megan Thee Stallion is once again at the center of legal tension as two New York models filed lawsuits against Roc Nation for allegedly misusing their images on billboards promoting her Hot Girl Summer swimwear line.

Models Janelle Delacruz and Tonoia Wade claim the Jay-Z-backed

The company breached its contracts by using photos from an April 2025 shoot in outdoor ads across Los Angeles and three other cities.

According to court documents obtained by Billboard, both women had signed agreements limiting the use of their images solely to social media platforms.

Delacruz was paid $5,000 for her participation, while Wade earned $8,700 plus agency fees.

Their lawsuits argue that Roc Nation “had a limited license to use plaintiff’s likeness from the April 30, 2025, photoshoot” and “knew that it did not have plaintiff’s consent” to display the images in billboard campaigns.

The legal filings accuse Roc Nation of breach of contract, false advertising and misappropriation of likeness. The models are seeking unspecified damages and claim the company was “unjustly enriched” by exceeding the agreed-upon terms.

Attorney Bassil Hamideh, who represents both women, told Billboard, “We take models’ rights very seriously. We consider Roc Nation’s unlawful conduct against our clients to be egregious.”

Although Megan Thee Stallion is not named as a defendant in either case, the lawsuits add to the growing list of legal entanglements surrounding her brand.

She recently won a defamation suit against blogger Milagro Gramz involving AI-generated deepfakes and online harassment.

Roc Nation has managed Megan’s career since 2019, a partnership that led to a long-running legal battle with her former label 1501 Certified Entertainment, which was resolved in 2023.

The swimwear line at the center of the current dispute launched in May as part of Megan’s broader push into fashion and lifestyle branding.
