Jeannie Seely To Be Honored With Public Memorial Service, ‘Jeannie Seely’s 5,398th Opry Show’

The late country music legend, Jeannie Seely, is set to be honored with a celebration of life in the place that played such a huge part in her life – the Grand Ole Opry.

A public memorial service titled “Jeannie Seely’s 5,398th Opry Show” will be held on Wednesday, August 14 at 10 a.m. CT at the historic Nashville venue. The special event will be broadcast live on 650 AM WSM and livestreamed here, allowing fans around the world to take part in honoring her memory.

According to a press release, Seely, famously known as “Miss Country Soul,” was 85 years old when she passed away August 1, 2025 at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tennessee. She died as a result of complications caused by an intestinal infection.

The “Don’t Touch Me” singer had been battling ongoing health complications since last fall, when a trip to her Pennsylvania hometown ended with a hospital stay. She was treated for acute diverticulitis and dehydration at that time. In the months that followed, Seely underwent multiple back procedures to address damaged vertebrae, as well as two emergency abdominal surgeries.

Her health further declined after the passing of her husband of 14 years, Eugene W. Ward, in December 2024. Seely passed away in hospice care shortly after celebrating her 85th birthday on July 6.

On March 1, 2025, Seely made her final public appearance at the grand reopening of the Legends of Country Music Museum in Nashville’s Music Valley. The building now features her portrait on its exterior as well as a reimagined exhibit inside that celebrates her impact on country music.

Throughout her groundbreaking career, she became an essential part of the Opry family, performing in its coveted circle a record-breaking 5,397 times, which is more than any other artist in history. Her legendary journey at the Opry began when she became a member in 1967 and famously became the first person to wear a mini skirt on the Opry stage.

She went on to be recognized as the longest-performing female artist still actively working in country music at the time of her passing.

In keeping with that legacy, her final sendoff is being dubbed her 5,398th show. This event will serve as both a heartfelt goodbye and a fitting tribute to her immense contributions to the country music community.

Fans are encouraged to celebrate Jeannie Seely’s life with donations to the Opry Trust Fund in lieu of flowers. This fund provides assistance to members of the country music community in need. Since it was founded in 1965, over $4.8 million has been distributed amongst members of the music industry.

The Pennsylvania native’s team also suggested sending a donation to a pet charity as a way to honor a cause close to her heart.

Throughout her career, Seely racked up countless accolades, including her achievement as the third female country artist to win a GRAMMY. Jeannie Seely was a member of the Music City Walk of Fame, and recently received CMA’s prestigious Joe Talbot Award on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry.

Jeannie Seely’s voice, contributions and trailblazing spirit helped shape both the Opry and country music as a whole. Now, the spotlight will shine on her one final time at “Jeannie Seely’s 5,398th Opry Show.”

GloRilla Concert Collapse Over Forged Documents Triggers Massive Lawsuit

A canceled Cleveland concert that was “supposedly” going to feature rapper GloRilla is at the center of a $2.5 million lawsuit after a local company accused a promoter of faking artist agreements and pocketing deposits.

Esmail Entertainment, founded earlier this year, filed suit against Shaw Management Enterprises on August 4, claiming the promotion group misrepresented artist bookings and submitted forged contracts for a show scheduled at the Wolstein Center on September 6, 2025.

The event was set to feature GloRilla, Moneybagg Yo and Skilla Baby. But just two days after tickets went live, Shaw Management reportedly told Esmail Entertainment to halt all marketing efforts—without offering a reason.

According to the lawsuit, Esmail’s team reached out to GloRilla’s representatives and discovered she had never signed a contract to perform.

The complaint further alleges that negotiations between Shaw and the rapper’s camp were still ongoing and had not been finalized. The nail in the coffin came after Big Glo refused to sign any deal to perform due to the alleged forgery.

The suit also claims the agreements for Moneybagg Yo and Skilla Baby were fabricated.

Esmail Entertainment says it wired more than $280,000 in deposits to Shaw Management. Of that, only $20,000 has been returned. The company estimates it lost approximately $2.5 million in potential ticket revenue due to the event’s collapse.

Despite the cancellation, tickets for the show remain listed on resale platforms, with some prices topping $1,000.

The six-count lawsuit includes claims of fraud, civil theft and tortious interference with business expectancy.

The concert, which was expected to draw thousands to downtown Cleveland, was officially scrapped after the alleged deception came to light.

GloRilla, nor any of the artists, is named in the lawsuit.

Lil Tay’s OnlyFans Launch & Million-Dollar Payday Gets Her Dad’s Blessing

Lil Tay dropped her OnlyFans link the second she turned 18 and pulled in over a million bucks in a few hours—and her dad is totally cool with it.

Chris Hope, Tay’s father, told TMZ he’s not getting involved in her content and won’t be monitoring what she posts.

When asked about Lil Tay’s sudden entry into the adult subscription scene, he said, “Tay can make her own decisions.” Hope added, “I am sure she is going to be successful in whatever she decides to do.”

Hope also made it clear he knows people are gonna talk. “Some people won’t approve no matter what she does.”

Still, he’s choosing support over judgment. He’s not here to micromanage Lil Tay or her choices now that she’s legally an adult. Tay didn’t waste a second.

A post shared by LIL TAY (@liltay)

She filmed her OnlyFans content right after midnight on July 29, the moment she turned 18 and hit the jackpot immediately. On August 3, Tay posted a screenshot showing she racked up over $1 million in her first three hours.

She captioned her post, “Not bad for 3 hours. We broke the f*ck out of that OnlyFans record.”

She also compared herself to Bhad Bhabie, who previously made $1 million in six hours. Tay claimed she smashed that record in half the time.

Machine Gun Calls Out Insecure Dudes Hating On Him For No Reason

Machine Gun Kelly says the hate he catches online doesn’t faze him one bit and he’s brushing it off like lint on a t-shirt.

The rapper turned rocker chopped it up with People ahead of his upcoming album Lost Americana and he didn’t hold back about how people treat him for being different.

Whether it’s his wild fashion, his genre-hopping music or his love life with Megan Fox, MGK said he’s been on the receiving end of random hate for years—and he’s over it.

“I became so hated for, what has become apparent to me, no reason . . . just because I artistically express myself, through fashion, music, whatever – because I choose to not stay contained into a societal box,” Machine Gun Kelly said.

He’s not even mad about it anymore. In fact, he thinks it’s kinda funny now.

“The hate for me has become so pop culture that it’s almost like that’s automatically what you say to fit in,” MGK explained. “That s**t doesn’t even mean anything to me. I’ve let it go completely to where I’m like, ‘Oh, that’s a joke.’”

Machine Gun Kelly also called out the people behind the loudest hate—mostly dudes, according to him.

“I think people just don’t like that I do whatever the f**k I want and it’s a reflection of them not being able to do whatever they want,” he said. “I think men let their insecurity rule their entirety.”

MGK’s new album, Lost Americana, drops Friday and he’s hoping it helps people actually get him for once.

“Maybe this time,” he said, “they’ll get to know the man-slash-broken-boy behind the moniker MGK.”

Busta Rhymes Assistant After At Least $6M Over Workplace Assault

Busta Rhymes is now at the center of a $6 million federal lawsuit after his former assistant accused him of physical assault and labor law violations during a dispute in his Brooklyn building.

The complaint, filed by Dashiel Gables, claims the Hip-Hop icon struck him in the face during a January altercation in the lobby of Rhymes’ residence.

Gables says the punch left him with swelling near his eye and emotional trauma. The suit also alleges unpaid wages and unlawful workplace treatment.

According to court documents, the confrontation began when Busta Rhymes became upset with Gables for using his phone on the job.

Gables says the situation escalated quickly and ended with him being physically attacked.

Busta Rhymes turned himself in to cops and was hit with three assault charges.’

Following the alleged incident, Gables says he was cut off from Rhymes’ professional network, effectively ending his role in the rapper’s career.

A press conference with his legal team, Vishnick McGovern Milizio LLP, and Panzavecchia & Associates, PLLC, is planned outside the Kings County Supreme Court in Brooklyn on August 7 to address the lawsuit and the broader workplace issues it raises.

The lawsuit accuses Rhymes of assault, battery, wage theft and emotional distress and a settlement could end up costing the rapper between $6 million and $7 million.

In related news, Busta Rhymes has recently been in the spotlight for more positive reasons, including receiving a star on the Hollyw

EXCLUSIVE: Drake Allowed To Tape Subpoena To Missing Witness’s Door In “Not Like Us” Lawsuit

Drake is slapping subpoenas on doors now after blowing over $75,000 trying to track down a dude he says knows way too much about the behind-the-scenes drama in his legal war with Universal Music Group over Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us.”

A federal judge in New York gave Drake’s lawyers the green light to serve Kojo Menne Asamoah with legal docs by mail, email and—get this—by taping that subpoena right on the front doors of five spots tied to Asamoah, his family or his business.

After 11 failed attempts, the court basically said, “Do what you gotta do.”

Drake’s team has been hunting Asamoah for weeks, hiring private investigators and process servers to chase him across multiple addresses. No luck.

So now, they’re going door-to-door, thanks to Judge Jeannette A. Vargas, who ruled that “alternate service” was fair game after all those attempts to serve Asamoah.

The court docs say Asamoah holds receipts—emails, contracts, digital trails—that could blow things wide open. But so far, dude’s been a ghost.

This is part of a larger lawsuit where Drake claims UMG secretly paid folks to juice the streaming numbers on Kendrick’s diss track using bots and shady third parties.

Asamoah, according to Drake, is smack in the middle of that conspiracy.

Drizzy’s legal squad says Asamoah helped pull strings to boost “Not Like Us” and make it look like the whole world was vibing with it. Drake’s suit also says the track falsely paints him as a predator, putting him and his family in danger.

The lawsuit also claims UMG banked off the beef, cashing in on the hype with Grammy wins and a Super Bowl halftime performance featuring the track.

Even though Asamoah isn’t named as a defendant, he’s clearly a significant piece of the puzzle. He’s rumored to have ties to the digital marketing world, but there’s no proof he’s directly tied to Kendrick himself.

Benny The Butcher & Conway The Machine Reportedly Clash In Paris

Benny The Butcher and Conway The Machine allegedly went head-to-head in a heated confrontation overseas, igniting fresh speculation that Griselda may be fracturing from within.

The tension within the Buffalo-born collective reportedly peaked during a Paris stop that should have been a celebration of raw lyricism and underground grit. Instead, it spiraled into whispers of fists, knives and fractured alliances.

According to eyewitnesses and scattered social media commentary, Benny and Conway did not share the stage. Instead, their respective camps arrived and moved entirely separate, which many longtime followers of Griselda immediately noted as “off.”

“There was no Griselda set. They were completely split up. Something is up,” one attendee posted online.

The most dramatic reports suggest an actual physical altercation between Benny and Conway. One source described them “arguing face-to-face,” only to be separated before things escalated further. Another alleged that someone pulled a knife, while a different member of the entourage was reportedly knocked unconscious during the chaos.

While unverified, the rumors have hit the internet like wildfire, prompting fans to question whether this incident signals the death knell for Griselda’s unity. One particularly ominous quote circulating on Instagram read: “Griselda’s family is totally dead.”

That might be dramatic, but signs of trouble have been bubbling under the surface for months. The three-headed monster that once included Westside Gunn, Benny The Butcher and Conway The Machine has been seemingly moving in different directions.

Benny has been busy with Def Jam, his Everybody Can’t Go LP and collaborations far outside the traditional Griselda circle. Conway, meanwhile, has doubled down on Drumwork Music Group, mentoring new artists and carving out a distinct brand.

While Westside Gunn has often played the middleman, even his recent statements have leaned toward each artist “doing their own thing.” It should be noted that they are cousins in real life so how bad can this be? Well, don’t answer that yet.

Still, nothing hits harder than seeing two of the game’s top spitters at odds. These dudes built their rep on loyalty and lyricism. They’re all from Buffalo. By the way, Conway has new music, too.

What caused this rift? Some believe it’s friendly fire – competition. Others think it’s deeper. It would be an accumulation of business disagreements, ego clashes and the pursuit of individual success. DAMN. I hope not. Top billing is  all there is for most in Hip-Hop. The movement mattes. Brotherhood matters. And, maybe sadly,  competition matters.

Neither Conway nor Benny has addressed the alleged Paris incident publicly. But if the rumors are true, Griselda’s era of unity may be giving way to a solo era.

Whatever happens next, one thing’s certain: We are watching.

Woman Who Can’t Leave Post Malone Alone Arrested, Held Without Bail

Post Malone had another unwanted run-in with his longtime stalker after Cherish Christine Gomer allegedly launched herself in front of his ride early Monday.

The insanity occurred outside of his Utah home on August 4 and marks her fifth arrest for the same creepy behavior.

According to court docs, the 32-year-old Gomer got cuffed outside the Cottonwood Heights mansion after hiding in the bushes and allegedly blocking the Hip-Hop star’s car.

She’s now facing two third-degree felonies — stalking and violating a permanent criminal stalking injunction.

“She truly believes that she has a calling from some sort of spirit animal. She thinks that she has a relationship with Mr. Post…so that she’s entitled to do this. It’s incredibly alarming and these people can be incredibly dangerous, as we’ve seen throughout history,” said Robby Russo, Police Chief of Cottonwood Heights.

This whole saga’s been dragging on for months. It kicked off back on January 21 when Gomer first got busted for sneaking onto Posty’s property. A gate opened for a worker and she slid right in.

Then on February 1, she popped up again, this time strolling right up the driveway like she lived there. She caught another charge and later pleaded guilty to misdemeanor stalking.

She wasn’t done. She turned up again on February 10 and then once more on July 27 — both times violating the court order meant to keep her away.

Now she’s locked up again with no bail, and it looks like the court’s finally done playing nice.

Young Thug Returns To High School To Do Good—As Part Of Probation

Young Thug returned to an Atlanta high school last week as part of his court-ordered community service, urging students to steer clear of violence and poor decisions.

On Friday morning (August 1), the 33-year-old artist visited Skyview High School on Old National Highway. The appearance was one of several public talks required by the terms of his probation, following his guilty plea in a sweeping criminal case tied to the YSL RICO indictment.

During his visit, Young Thug avoided glamorizing his past. Instead, he emphasized personal responsibility and the consequences of poor decisions.

“I feel like violence is just not the thing,” Young Thug told students during the visit. “It’s lame, it’s corny.”

According to Atlanta News First, Thugger answered questions about his life, career and past choices, offering a rare glimpse into his personal reflections after being released from jail late last year.

His remarks were part of a broader effort to fulfill a community service requirement tied to a 40-year sentence, of which only five years were to be served. That portion was commuted to time already served.

The rapper’s legal troubles stemmed from a high-profile case involving racketeering and multiple drug and gun charges for allegedly heading up the Young Slime Life gang.

Young Thug pleaded guilty to one gang-related count, three drug offenses and two weapons charges.

He also entered a no-contest plea to a racketeering conspiracy charge.

The final sentence was handed down by a judge—not negotiated with prosecutors—and included 15 years of probation and 20 years suspended, which could be reinstated if he violates the terms.

Conditions of his release include house arrest, mandatory public speaking, and a 10-year restriction from living in metro Atlanta without prior approval.

Trump Sanctions Narco Rapper Accused Of Using Music To Launder Money For Drug Cartel

Mexican rapper “Narco rapper” El Makabelico was hit with sanctions by Donald Trump’s administration after U.S. officials accused him of funneling music royalties to a violent drug cartel operating along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The U.S. Treasury Department announced that El Makabelico allegedly used his Hip-Hop career to launder money for the Cartel del Noreste, a criminal group that evolved from the now-defunct Zetas Cartel.

The sanctions freeze his assets in the United States and prohibit American companies or individuals from doing business with him.

According to the Treasury, El Makabelico directed “approximately 50 percent of his music royalties” from streaming platforms to the cartel’s financial network.

“El Makabelico has used his music career to support and promote the violent activities of the Cartel del Noreste,” the Treasury Department said in a statement.

The department also warned that foreign banks or entities that continue to work with El Makabelico or the cartel could face secondary sanctions.

The Cartel del Noreste, which Donald Trump’s administration has designated as a foreign terrorist organization, has increasingly turned to nontraditional revenue streams like concerts and merchandise to clean illicit funds.

El Makabelico music, which includes narco-corridos, often glorifies cartel life and street violence.

He performs masked and has built a massive online audience with millions of followers across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.

His video for “El Sobrino” has over 148 million views on YouTube alone before his channel was deleted just hours ago on Wednesday (August 6).
