Justin Moore Reveals the Hit Song He Hates Singing Live

Justin Moore has racked up plenty of hit songs over the years, along with a few that may not have topped the charts but have still become fan favorites. When his label recently asked if he had a favorite song to perform live, it sparked a surprising confession from the country star, who told them that it would be easier to name the songs he’d rather not sing.

“It’s easier to tell you the ones you hate singin’, to be honest with you. Like ‘Somebody Else Will,’ I hate singin’ that song because it’s so freaking high,” he confessed. “I mean, I love the song, but it’s so high and we do it like the third song in the set and I’m like, ‘I don’t know why we did that. I don’t know why we recorded it in this key.’”

Written by Kelly Archer, Adam Hambrick, and Tebey Ottoh, “Somebody Else Will” was released by Moore in 2016 as the second single from his Kinda Don’t Care album. It climbed the charts all the way to No.1, marking his sixth chart-topping hit.

As for his favorite song to sing, Moore admits it changes from time to time.

“I think it changes though, your favorite, to be honest with you. Lately it’s been ‘Lettin’ the Night Roll.’ We kinda threw it back in the set after not having it in there for a little while, so it’s kinda been fun to go back and play it,” he revealed.

Moore’s current single is “Time’s Ticking.” The album version of the song features guest vocals from Dierks Bentley, however, the solo version of the song is the one climbing the charts.

According to Moore, “Time’s Ticking” carries a pretty simple message.

“Live life to the fullest, and try to take advantage of every moment you have, whether it be with your family or with your career. Make the most out of every single day,” Moore previously told Billboard

The idea for the title came from his co-writer/producer, Jeremy Stover, who was inspired while reflecting on how quickly time seems to pass, especially when it comes to parenthood.

“My kids are getting a little older,” Stover previously told Billboard. “and just thinking on some of the moments I’ve missed, but also some of the ones I’ve been there for — you know, the ones I’ve been there for have been really, really valuable, and I appreciate a lot. That’s a big part of where that comes from.”

The Arkansas native is currently on the road, with a slew of dates planned through mid-October.
