Dierks Bentley and Zach Top Put a Country Spin On TikTok’s ‘Bugatti’ Trend With Alan Jackson’s ‘Drive (For Daddy Gene)’

There’s no doubt that Dierks Bentley and Zach Top are having fun both on and off stage while on the road together for Bentley’s headlining Broken Branches Tour. Their most recent antics involved taking part in the TikTok’s viral “Bugatti” trend during a stop in Boston, MA.

When Top first joined the run as a special guest, fans were introduced to his alter ego, “Billy Bottoms,” marking his debut in Bentley’s comedic ‘90s influenced group, Hot Country Knights. He and Bentley’s persona Douglas ‘Doug’ Dougalson, made a resurgence while filming the hilarious social media trend.

The trend typically involves couples using Ace Hood’s 2013 anthem “Bugatti” featuring Rick Ross and Future, and specifically highlights the hook, “I woke up in a new Bugatti.” The first person to appear on camera sits on the floor with their arms up to mimic shifting the luxury car into gear and once that beat drops, their partner off-camera yanks them out of frame with ease. When roles are reversed the “driver” barely moves, indicating that their weight is too much for their partner to pull.

@jademyler I thought this trend was going to be easy haha @brytonmyler_ #trendingvideo #fyp ♬ I WOKE UP IN A NEW BUGATTI – mookie

Bentley and Top decided to take part in the trend, but they put their own country twist on it by trading the hip-hop anthem for Alan Jackson’s “Drive (For Daddy Gene).” Sporting their Hot Country Knights looks, each member of the band, starting with “Doug” Dougalson, were pulled away in ease as Jackson sings “Daddy let me drive.”

Once it was Zach Top’s turn, the country singer was pulled away at a hilariously slow speed. However, he made the most out of the joke by cracking open a cold one as he moved out of frame.

@dierksbentley Almost had to leave Billy Bottoms Jr. in Boston!@Zach Top @Hot Country Knights ♬ Drive (For Daddy Gene) – Alan Jackson

The caption matched the videos comedic spirit as it read, “Almost had to leave Billy Bottoms Jr. in Boston!”

Fans filled the comment section of the video with praise for their ability to bring the fun and laughs to any setting.

“This is the best thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life”

“This trend >>>over the Bugatti trend”

“I feel like this might be the most fun touring pair of the year!”

“so this is actually the best thing i’ve ever seen”

Fans are clearly loving Top’s jorts-wearing, cigarette-smoking alter ego. He made his first appearance in the form of the character at Country Fest in Ohio, where Doug announced him as a newly released ex-con. Since then, Bottoms has become a fan-favorite and his role in the viral video only adds to the growing support for Top’s on-stage double life.

The Broken Branches Tour kicked off on May 29 and features Dierks Bentley with special guests Zach Top, and The Band Loula. This trek is in support of Bentley’s 11th studio album of the same name, which dropped on June 13 and includes 11 tracks. Among the songs are several collaborations with special guests such as Riley Green and John Anderson, as well as Miranda Lambert and Stephen Wilson Jr.

The next stop on Dierks Bentley’s Broken Branches tour is set to take place in Cincinnati, OH on July 18 followed by Noblesville, IN on July 19.

This was a moment Kay manifested. Before the tour launched, she made one of her signature coffee-making videos and asked, “Do y’all think Brad Paisley would let me sing this with him while we’re on tour?”

@alexandrakaymusic That would literally be MY DREAM COME TRUE @Brad Paisley 🥹 see ya this weekend! 🛻🎀 #thecoffeegirl #alexandrakay ♬ Whiskey Lullaby (feat. Alison Krauss) – Brad Paisley

She admitted she would “cry” if it happened and called it “literally my dream come true.”

Written by Bill Anderson and Jon Randall, “Whiskey Lullaby” was recorded by Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss and released in 2004 on Paisley’s Mud on the Tires album. The emotional ballad has since been certified 2x Platinum by the RIAA.

Reflecting on the milestone moment, Alexandra Kay wrote, “First night out with @bradpaisley .. an absolute dream come true. I have NEVER seen so many AK Tshirts in the crowd before. I love yall thank you for always showing up for us. Brad!! Thanks for this opportunity to play for your incredible fans! I’m forever grateful! Let’s do it all again this weeeeeekendddd.”

Prior to the tour, Kay reflected on getting the call to tour with Brad Paisley, admitting that she “called everyone” in her family to deliver the news. She also shared her excitement for having the opportunity to collaborate with Paisley during his show.

“When I found out what song he wanted to bring me out and have that moment with, I lost my mind,” she admitted to Country Now. “So it’s going to be iconic. I’m so excited, and I am such a Brad Paisley fan, and what really gets me excited about going out on tour with somebody is how many songs I know and Brad is just full of number one songs, full of hit songs. So I just am honestly just as excited to go out and be on the stage with him.”

Later, she shared plans to watch Paisley’s show every night on tour.

“I’m so excited to just after my show, go to front of house and sing all of his songs at the top of my lungs,” she said. “I’ve paid to go to so many Brad Paisley concerts, so the fact that I get to watch a free one for nine shows, I’m so excited.”

Alexandra Kay will return to the road on July 17 in Richmond Virginia alongside Paisley. The tour continues through August.

87-Year-Old Fan Plants A Kiss On Thomas Rhett During Her First-Ever Country Concert

Thomas Rhett created an unforgettable moment that the crowd, and one fan in particular, will never forget during a stop on his Better In Boots Tour. Following his headlining show at the PNV Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ, a new video surfaced online capturing the sweet moment Rhett made his way into the crowd mid-set to hug an 87-year-old fan in celebration of it being her very first country concert.

The heartwarming exchange that took place on July 10 quickly became the talk of the night and the internet.

The video that has since racked up over 45k views shows a woman holding up a bright yellow sign that read, “My mom is 87 years old and this is her first country concert.”  The message clearly caught Rhett’s attention because without hesitation, he jumped off stage and over the barricade to meet the fan behind the sign.

“I just want to hug you, can I hug you?” he can be heard asking in the following video.

Seconds later, Rhett was in the crowd giving the 87-year-old a warm embrace and she returned the love with a kiss on the cheek, causing fans around them to scream in excitement. The woman is seen beaming with joy, clearly overwhelmed in the best way, as the surrounding crowd cheers and smiles right along with her.

Her daughter, who helped make the moment happen, thanked all the kind fans around her with a round of high fives.

The user who posted the video praised Thomas Rhett for his kind gesture as she wrote, ” Another reason why I love @Thomas Rhett 🥹🫶🏼 It was an 87 year old women’s first country concert and he took a moment to come into the crowd to give her a hug! Such a memorable moment that she will never forget! Just look at the smile on her face, I can’t stop watching it🥹🥹🥹”

Rhett himself even chimed in, commenting simply: “My girl,” to which the user replied, “A night her, and I and everyone around us will never forget!!! Thank you!!!!❤️”

Fans flooded the comment section not only praising Rhett for the kind gesture but also applauding the crowd’s respect in stepping aside to let the dream-come-true moment unfold.

The woman’s daughter, who is responsible for bringing the sign that caught Rhett’s attention, later took to her own TikTok page to reflect on the unforgettable moment and share why it was so meaningful for both her and her mom.

First, she explained what occurred in the moments leading up to Thomas Rhett taking note of the sign.

“When I got there, I showed the people around me, they were like 20 and 30 something year olds. I loved everybody around me. It was so much fun. And so when he came out, everybody’s like, ‘put the sign up. Put the sign up.’ And I was like, ‘not yet. Not yet.’ So he came around a couple of times on our side. I was in third row, and I put it up and I don’t think he saw it. And then the one time that I put it up, everybody was pointing at me. and he saw it. His eyes got real wide so then I put it down, and then this was halfway into the concert sort of, he’s like, ‘where’s that girl with that sign?’ And I was like, oh my God. I put it up and he started reading it. And then that’s what ensued.”

She went on to admit that she never thought the “Beautiful As You” singer would have that kind of reaction, but his kindness ended up making her and her mom even bigger fans.

“That made my mom’s entire life, and I’m not even kidding. It made mine too. Thank you so much, Mr. Thomas Rhett. You are awesome. Big fan.”

This memory will be one the woman and her mom will never forget, and it also marked a full circle moment as she revealed her mom took her to her first-ever concert back in the day and she was proud to return the favor all these years later. In her final video reflecting on the events that took place, the user explained that they lost their father and husband back in 2020 and getting to meet Thomas Rhett was a moment of brightness in a long journey of grief.

“We have been struggling emotionally with the loss of him. Us being two girls living together on our own, it’s a struggle,” she shared honestly. “So if I can bring one moment of joy to someone in my family, especially my mom, I was going to do it and I succeeded. So thank you again, Thomas Rhett. Love you. Love you, love you.”

The must-see concert will feature support from GRAMMY® Awards nominee and “Somethin’ ‘Bout A Womna” collaborator, Teddy Swims, as well as rising stars Tucker Wetmore and The Castellows.

Kelly Clarkson Honors Dolly Parton’s Personal Song Request With Breathtaking ‘I Will Always Love You’ Cover In Las Vegas

Kelly Clarkson received a song request that she couldn’t refuse because it came straight from the queen of country herself, Dolly Parton. During the opening weekend of her Studio Sessions residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Clarkson surprised fans with a breathtaking performance of “I Will Always Love You,” honoring Parton’s personal suggestion to include the classic tune in her setlist.

The idea to cover the song came about when Clarkson posted a photo of the marquee in front of Caesar’s Palace that featured two advertisements – one promoting Dolly Parton’s upcoming residency this December and another one that included the details for Clarkson’s current run in Sin City.

She wrote, “I think this is a sign I should cover a Dolly song at one of my shows…. but which song?”

Dolly Gives Her A Suggestion

Fans were quick to weigh in on what songs out of the country icon’s catalog they believed she should include, but one comment particularly stood out as it came from Dolly herself.

The “9 To 5” singer wrote, “Hey Kelly, I think you should sing ‘I Will Always Love You’ because I think you do one of the best versions of that song that I have ever heard… Whitney and I would both be proud….”

In the midst of her show, Kelly Clarkson recounted this online interaction and admitted there was no doubt that she would follow through with Dolly’s request.

“Here’s the thing. This is how much I love Dolly Parton because when Dolly Parton asks you to sing something, you just shut your mouth and do it. And I love Whitney Houston as well. She’s one of my biggest influences,” she explained.

Pulling Inspiration From Both Dolly And Whitney Houston

Clarkson went on to preface the performance by saying that while her rendition will take a bit of inspiration from both Dolly and Whitney’s iconic vocals, it will lean more towards Dolly’s rendition because as a Texas native and avid country fan, that is the version of the song that she heard first.

“I hope y’all like this. If you don’t, can you just be kind? I already know I shouldn’t be doing this s**t,” she joked before adding, “I do love this song, and it does mean, behind the scenes, it means something for me…it means something special for me. And anyway, I’m doing this for Dolly.”

Dolly Parton may not have been present at the performance physically, but spiritually, she was watching over Clarkson through a photo hanging up in the back of the stage. Clarkson revealed that all the images that could be seen on the set behind her were her real photos taken with fellow artists including Bonnie Raitt, Reba McEntire, Steven Tyler, Fleetwood Mac, etc. This was her attempt to make the entire show feel more intimate, almost like the crowd was really inside the studio with Clarkson.

“Anyway, this is such a beautiful song. It’s an honor to get to sing it,” she shared before diving into a stunning rendition of “I Will Always Love You.”

Clarkson Closes Out The Show In Style

The jaw-dropping performance took place during the encore portion of the show, which also found Kelly Clarkson changing into a fashionable neutral-colored dress with dramatic feather and rhinestone details all throughout. The video clips that have circulated the internet reveal that her cover that prompted the audience to go silent, allowing them to take in the incredible talent before them. Only a few cheers were heard until the very last note, when Clarkson belted out the tender narrative, earning nothing but incredible praise for those in the audience.

Along with this stunning cover, Clarkson spent the two-hour show, giving the audience stories behind some of her biggest hits like like “Stronger” and “My Life Would Suck Without You” as well as select deep cuts such as “Sober” and “Tight Rope.” She also performed her latest single, “Where Have You Been.”

The Residency Got A Delayed Start

The 43-year-old singer kicked off Studio Sessions, her second residency in Sin City in two years on Friday, July 11. However, this concert at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum wasn’t initially intended to be the residency’s opening night. Just hours before what was set to be the first show on Friday, July 4, Kelly Clarkson unfortunately canceled two performances in order to “protect” her voice.

She took to social media to announce the last-minute cancellations, revealing that she was “devastated” to make the decision that was ultimately necessary for her to be able to put on her best show.

“We have been working 24/7 to make Studio Sessions the most intimate and extraordinary experience with and for my incredible fans. I am beyond grateful that you always show up for me and I am devastated to have to postpone tonight and tomorrow’s opening at Caesars.”

“The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice. I want the shows to be perfect for y’all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve. The show is truly incredible.  The musicians and singers are outstanding, and I want us all to start out strong.”

She added, “I can’t wait to be back next weekend and show y’all what we’ve been working on.”

It’s safe to say that after taking some extra time to recover, Kelly Clarkson returned with her vocal cords feeling better than ever.

“Studio Sessions” at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace will run on the weekends through August 16. Then Clarkson will return for a few more performances, taking place November 7 through 15.

Riley Green Welcomes U.S. Marine Jackson Perkins For Moving Performance Of ‘In Color’

Riley Green delivered a powerful moment at Chicago’s Windy City Smokeout over the weekend when he welcomed a very special guest to the stage. During his set on Sunday, July 13, Green introduced the massive crowd to First Lieutenant Jackson Perkins of the United States Marine Corps.

Together, the two teamed up to deliver a heartfelt rendition of Jamey Johnson’s “In Color,” a song Green frequently includes in his live sets. Each time he performs the song, Riley Green takes pride in portraying the narrative of an elderly man reflecting on some of the most pivotal moments of his life, including his time fighting in World War II. Having Lieutenant Perkins share the stage for this song added an extra layer of meaning and reverence.

With Perkins dressed in his uniform while playing the guitar and showcasing his baritone vocals beside Green, the crowd lit up with excitement, making for one of the most memorable moments of the night.

“Semper Fi,” Green wrote in his caption while sharing a clip of the performance on TikTok. “Thank you First Lieutenant Jackson Perkins of the United States Marine Corps for singing this one with me at Windy City Smokeout.”

“In Color” was co-written by Johnson, a United States Marine veteran himself, with James Otto and Lee Thomas Miller. It was released in 2008 as the lead single from Johnson’s That Lonesome Song album and went on to become his first Top 10 hit, peaking at #9 on the chart. The ballad also earned Song of the Year trophies at both the ACM and CMA Awards in 2009.

The powerful duet wasn’t the only highlight of Green’s weekend. While on stage in front of his Chicago fans, the country star welcomed another guest – fellow Alabama native Ella Langley, to perform their hit duets, “You Look Like You Love Me” and “Don’t Mind If I Do.”

Green also recently debuted his acoustic Midtown Sessions EP via Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment. He served as a producer on several songs off the 5-track project including solo-written tracks “Worst Way” and “Jesus Saves,” as well as a stripped-down rendition of Tim McGraw’s “The Cowboy in Me.” Erik Dylan produced the remaining tracks.

In addition to the stripped-back versions of four fan-favorites, he also debuted a new song titled “Bartender In Destin.” The Midtown Sessions EP follows on the heels of his full length record, Don’t Mind If I Do, which was released last October.

Riley Green’s set at Windy City Smokeout warmed up the crowd for Jon Pardi’s headline performance to cap off the weekend. The festival’s 2025 lineup also featured Bailey Zimmerman, Koe Wetzel, Kane Brown, Old Dominion, Dylan Gossett, Jon Pardi and Megan Moroney plus a slew of rising acts who took the stage during the day.

His stop in Chicago, IL came in the midst of his current headline run, the Damn Country Music tour. The trek will continue through November with Ella Langley serving as direct support alongside openers Jamey Johnson, Lauren Watkins and more.
