A second release of Suicide Basin is occuring, crest likely tomorrow

NOTN- A secondary release of Suicide Basin is occurring. The National Weather Service Juneau’s current forecast indicates Mendenhall Lake cresting near 9.8 to 10.3 feet sometime between 2 pm and 6 pm on Friday, October 2. Ten feet is considered moderate flood stage. Flooding should be expected around the Mendenhall Campground, Skaters Cabin Road, some flooding in the View Drive area, between 1 and 3 feet. The Weather Service says to expect closures of pedestrian paths near the Mendenhall River.
